In general, typically moderators with full permissions (global moderators who have access to the moderation queue and full reign of the moderator control panel, ability to view details from posts, etc.) are able to do many things that may seem "powerful," hence why you can limit these settings as previously mentioned.
Editing posts isn't as "powerful" as lets say, access to information disclosed to the general public/users of the forum (IP addresses) and viewing Whois details and whereabouts. You can also permanently delete topics, ban users, and so forth. But let's be realistic - all of the named powers can cause a problem one way or another, depending on the circumstance, severity, and overall effect of what the action has caused.

Yea when I played around on the test moderator account I made it scared me to see all the stuff it can do O.o I'm going to experiment with the other "Moderator" rank Frostleaf made. I'm assuming she had the global mod and regular mod groups but I don't know whether or not she messed around with their positions. I'll post Chade as nominated, but the new moderator actually *becoming* moderator may have to wait.

(This is Admin btw...) Ok, well I gave this account "Light of Shadows" rank which I'm assuming is a lower moderator group. However, it seems to have permissions identical to a regular user, while the permissions of "Moonshine" group are nearly identical if not identical to those of an administrator. What I would like is a sort of "middle ground" moderator, not with the lower permissions of a normal user, but not with the complete powers of an administrator. It seems absurd to me that the only permission groups would be normal user and Administrator. Koa, as you seem to know quite a bit more about proboards than me , do you have any ideas on the cause and solution for this? Did Frostleaf mess up the permissions, or is it, as I mentioned earlier, just a "flaw" in the proboards code?

If so, can I have a screenshot of what they see? Also, can this new group access the admin panel? I would like to see a screenshot of what they see as well. It would help greatly.

I guess I must try next time. I'm only skilled apprentice! I'll never become Starclan warrior at this rate.
