So me and a few friends got on this topic randomly... If the world is round, how can things be side to side or up and down? Like...how do we know that the universe isnt sideways.. I'm sure no one knows, but it's the thought that counts.

It all depends on perception. To me, my computer looks right side up, but if the same computer were taken to the other side of the world, not changing it's view to me, it would look upside down.
As for the universe, it goes on forever. It can never be sideways.

Exactly. There is so much that we Don't know. The universe is vast and there's bound to be other life somewhere out in the depths of space.

the universe is expanding all the time, stars are born and stars die. The nearest stars would take light-years to travel to (a light-year is how far light can travel in a year)Imagine how far the distant stars are away from us.
