Our home reason there has been an incredible and fantastical catastrophe. The result of which being that nearly all the humans are either dead, holding up in small conclaves, or have left. Basically, good old post-apocalyptic pokemon world. You can't rely on there being a pokemon center or anything. The pokemon population, however, are not as affected and many still roam the land.
As such, you are embarking on a journey to find a way out of your region to a place that hasn't been affected. With you you can have up to six non-legendary pokemon companions, and you cannot catch any more. These pokemon are intelligent and undyingly loyal to you and for the most part will be both your only companions and your only means of survival for this coming journey, but you will have to take care of them like any other trainer would his pokemon.
Post your team and their roles to aid your survival.

Yes. but they MUST start at they're begging stage. My next question to you wolf is, how will your team help you survive? what is each members role in helping you survive/make the journey?

okay... first, do you mean the begging stage for the Pokémon or my character. And the roles:
1: Turtwig- Can search for herbs and berries to heal Pokémon and/or create meals.
2: Umbreon- Can be like flash light at night time when there is no light or in caves.
3: Gabite- He can dig deep enough to make a trench or to find rare items (ex: Revives) and he can push boulders out of the path.
4: Riolu- Can jump from tree to tree to sneak up or see what lies ahead, or smash weak rocks.
5: Absol- She can cut small trees and predict disasters (big storms).
6: Dratini- Can swim across lakes and streams, or go underwater.

JMJ, this is gonna be hard. I'm use to level 80+ pokemon.
1. Cyndaquil - 1 2. Magicarp - 20 (You can easily catch level 20 magicarps in the Lake of Rage) 3. Vulpix - 4 4. Gastly - 3 5. Skarmory - 3 6. Jolteon - 5

Same here Shade, I'm used to Pokémon over level 50, because in Diamond, I trained my Torterra to level 85 (used no rare candies on him), but then training him to level 100 was hard, so I used my rare candies then. Lake of Rage is pretty cool, especially the Shiny Gyarados.

oh I've played something like this before (only instead of pokemon it was zombies ) My team:(weird mix) Rufflet-Sharp eyes, can fly high enough to tell whats in front of us and has SHARP talons that he sharpens everyday Alomomola-Can swim across rushing waters and can heal pokemon Growlithe- superb sense of smell. Once it smells anything, this pokemon won’t forget the scent, no matter what. It's trainer jays guard Electrike-When ever going into towns she uses this pokemon to try and bring power to something.Very fast. Zorua-Can transform (not to useful for now) but still can tell when somethings coming, down to earth Snivy-Can use vine to get up high (perfect over rocks) and is very fast. Trainer:Named jay.Her eyes are deep dark blue and she has very long black hair that goes below her waist. She carries a katana over her back. She is very swift with her moves but is not very trusting for what happened. so kinda like this only the hairs dark and eyes are dark blue

Love Pokemon. I'm joining. Pidgey-Can fly, which means it can carry us places(Once it evolves/grows), has good eyesight. And you can't forget talons. Slowpoke-Can heal. Snivy-(Stealing one of your ideas Snowfeather, if ya don't mind) Can climb high with vine, and can probably find plants and berries since it sort of is a plant. Sphinx-Good fighter and has a good nose. Venipede-Sneaky and could probably call up a whole army/swarm. Gastly-Would probably be a good spy/lookout. How's that? I can think of better things if I have to, I had trouble thinking of things.

I would post my team but I am still thinking it out. So far though, I can already think of holes in your teams, none of you have any pokemon like chansey or miltank. Pokemon that can help YOU get better should you get sick on your journey. I'll post my team once I finally have one that's well thought out.

I may redo mine later. I rushed to finish this, and I am tired too. I'm gonna put a bit more thought into it I think.

Snowfeather, you like Umbreon? Crusty Fire: Yeah.. why is that?
I'm not really going to change mine, because Umbreon can use Moonlight(healing move, he can use that) and Turtwig can find herbs and berries, and then there's Gabite, he can dig down deep enough to (rare chance) find revives and Max revives, or shards (any color) to trade for different items for other people. He can even find evolution stones, type plates(Dragon plate, Grass plate. etc.), and fossils to trade.

Alright, Here is what my Team would be after thinking it in and out.
#1- Nidoran to Nidoqueen, Why: After evolving Nidoqueen has an extreamly large move pool learning 4 of the big types: Thunder,Fire,Ice, and Water. #2- Happiny to Blissy, Why?: In the event me OR my pokemon are harmed, here is our healer. #3- Eevee to Umbreon, Why?: Good hunter/night watch. Also able to use flash for dark caves. #4- Poliwag to Politoad, Why?: Need water? Boom Rain dance. #5- Vulpix to Ninetails, Why? Cold weather? Boom sunny day. Need a camp fire or to cook something? Boom flamthrower/ember. #6- Murcrow (not evolving as lowers speed.) Why?: Extra night watch, can fly to look out for where an enemy may be or shelter near by (if any) And can somehow fly me to where I need to get should it be a long ways away back.
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
