What that means is that you shared tongues and didn't recruit anybody! Don't worry just keep trying eventually you'll recruit him. If after sharing tounges you don't get any message at all, it means you successfully recuirted the cat and can add them to your party at the moonstone/moonpool.

Yeah. Just do it about 10 times (although it depends on your level) and you might get the cat you want.

No, it does not depend on your level. It depends on how well the cats got along in the books. For example, it would be very easy to recruit Brackenfur because he got along well with Firestar, but very hard to recruit Blackstar because he doesn't like Firestar.

I think it does depend on your level. (i think admin mentioned it once or twice)

It depends on your level. Level 10 or so - hard to recruit, and level 90-above - easier to recruit... it isn't anything to do with 'how well they get along in the books' because then it would be impossible to recruit Scourge. Literally. Impossible. Same for Tigerstar as well. It wouldn't be possible. =/ I think Admin wrote something about recruiting at 'Warrior Cats, the Game' website.

Actually, it does slightly.By Admin: Recruitment Explained:Okay, a lot of people have asked about why it is sometimes so hard to recruit a cat by sharing tongues. Well, I'm going to explain it. The chance of successfully recruiting a cat at the nettle patch is determine by the following formula, where the Main Cat's (Firestar in Original game or Brambleclaw in NP) level=x and the random variable=y it's a fairly simple formula, especially when you compare it do the damage calcultion formula, but if you don't get it, just post a comment asking about it. Here it is:
X= Main cat's level Y= randmom # 1-800 For those of you that don't know, >= means greater than or equal to.
(A certain amount may be added or subtracted from X here depending on the cat's relaitonship with Firestar &/ ThunderClan. Example: In the original game, Onewhisker gets X + 20 here, because he is a very good friend to Firestar. In the New Prophecy game, Onestar is less likely to recruit as he is much less friendly with ThunderClan.)
If X >= Y, then the cat is recruited.
To summarize, every time your main cat levels up, your chance of recruiting cats by sharing tongues increases by a tiny amount. At level 99 (max level), your chances of recruiting a cat by sharing tongues is roughly 1/8. At level 5 (starting level), it is roughly 1/160.
When you must battle a cat to recruit it, the chance of recruiting it is always 100%.
