It kinda sucks soo
I only have 3 chapters so far
During chapter 1, 2, and part of 3 I didnt know about the whole “press ‘return’ when a new charter talks” thing
Robin kit wandered around camp wondering what to do. She noticed a brown tabby, who’s name she remembered was Stubtail, sitting near a large tree in the middle of camp. She walked up to him, “Hi, Stubtail!” She said, Stubtail seemed a little frightened at her appearance. “Oh, hello Robin kit.” He said to her, “Is this your first time out of the nursery?”
“Mhm!”
“Well then, would you like me to show you around camp?” He asked, “Yes!” She answered, sitting next to him. He got to his paws, signaling for her to follow, though Robin kit didn’t understand, she ran after him. They walked over to a carved out fallen tree, “This is the elders' den.” He told her, “Got that?”
“Yes!” She shouted, “Shhh” he said, “The others are napping.” He whispered. “Sorry.” She whispered back. They carried on to the middle of camp, and stopped at a huge tree with a hole in it, “This is TallTree.”
Robinkit looked at the hole in the tree and asked, “What’s that for?” Stubtail followed her gaze to the hole, it took his eyes a moment to adjust to the darkness in the hole, but once they had adjusted he could clearly see the coat of a white tom laying inside. “That’s our leader's den, there is a patch of moss inside for the leader to lay on. Our leader mostly goes in to take a break from time to time.” He explained.
“Wasn’t the leader's name… Treestar?” Robinkit guessed, Stubtail nodded and Robinkit smiled. They both looked back at the hole as a white tom squeezed through, Robinkit trotted up to him and said, “Hi, Treestar!”
Treestar looked down at the small kit, smiled, and said, “Hello, Robinkit. Out of the nursery I see?” Robinkit looked up at her leader and told her, “Yeah! Stubtail has been showing me around camp.” Treestar looked at Stubtail for a moment before looking back at Robinkit. “Is that so? Well, I better let you two continue.” Robinkit dipped her head like she had seen her dad do sometimes when Treestar came into the nursery, and trotted back to Stubtail.
“Can you show me where the Medicine Cats Den is?” She asked him immediately, “Alright, follow me.” He started walking towards two trees that had fallen perfectly onto each other, blocking the sun from entering. Robinkit poked her head inside and saw a white cat with orange spots sitting inside next to two rocks that were poking out of the wall. They had many leaves, berrys, and other things on them. The orange she-cat with white spots turned around and smiled at them.
Slowly she got up and stretched, “Hello, Stubtail, who’s this?” She meowed as she walked closer. “Remember when Yelloweye had her kits?” He asked, “Well this is Robinkit, one of them. I’m surprised you haven't remembered her.” The she-cat yawned and walked back inside, “Well I am getting older now, and maybe one of the kits will be my apprentice.” She meowed as she moved leaves, berrys, and other things on the shelf.
Robinkit stood up and asked, “Can we go inside?” Stubtail didn’t answer but looked at the cat, she nodded, “RobinKit, my name's Orangespot by the way.” She meowed as Robinkit ran in and started looking around. Robinkit looked at the shelf and pointed to some leaves and asked Orangespot, “What’s this?” Orangespot looked where she was pointing. “Those are Dock leaves.” She explained to her. Stubtail and Orangespot started talking as Robinkit continued looking around, pausing here and there to ask questions. After a while Stubtail stood and started to speak to Robinkit, “Robin, we should continue.” She looked up at him from where she was and nodded. Stubtail began to walk away and Robinkit quickly raced after him.
Next they approached a large bush with a small hole that led inside. The leaves on the bush were thick and there were lots of them so the only way to see inside and go in and out was by the hole. She peered inside, at first it was pitch black, but once her eyes adjusted she could see around 2 or 3 cats inside. “Hey, get outta here kit!” Someone yelled at her. Stubtail pulled her back with his paw, and they moved away.
Stubtail started walking to another thick bush, but this one had a bigger hole than the warrior's den. “The nursery!” Robinkit meowed looking inside at her litter mates. “Mhm,” Stubtail meowed, sounding tired, “you should go inside and rest, you’ve been gone all day.” he added. Robinkit nodded and walked inside the bush. Before her eyes could adjust she heard her mom meow, “Robinkit! Where have you been all day, I’ve been worried sick!” Robinkit flattened her ears at her mothers scolding, “Your only 3 moons you can’t be away for a whole day.”
“Stubtail was showing me around camp.” She told her mother.
“Robinkit?” She reconditioned the voice, it was her blind sister, Sunkit. “Where have you been all day?” She asked Robinkit. Robinkit walked toward her, and gave her a lick on the head, “An elder named Stubtail was showing me around!” Sunkit tilted her head, “You mean that one that visits us a lot?” She asked.
“Yeah,” she meowed, sitting next to Sunkit.
“You two need to get to bed.” her mother told them, “Fiiiine.” Robinkit meowed, leading Sunkit to their moss bed. They both laid down, Sunkit was asleep fast but Robinkit stayed awake for a bit. Soon, though, she was in deep sleep.
It had been a while since Stubtail had showed Robinkit around, and she was 5 moons old now. She was much bigger, and had gotten to know the others in the nursery better. Besides her and Sunkit there were two others Fetherkit and Squirrelkit. Featherkit was a cream colored with darker markings on there face and tail, plus green eyes; Squirrelkit was brown with lots of dots on their body, and stripes on the face accompanied by lighter colored freckles and a lighter underbelly, plus light orange eyes.
Her and Squirrel kit had grown to be good friends, but she didn’t talk to Fetherkit much. Today was different from the rest, because tomorrow she, and her friends, all turned 6 moons. Once a kit turns 6 moons, they will become an apprentice, and a warrior will teach them new skills.
After she woke up she asked her mom if she could play outside, her mom was hesitant, but said yes. Now she lay, crouching, in the grass; she was about to attack Squirrelkit. She has no idea! She thought, moving closer, and closer.
Then she jumped, landing on her brown body. She pinned her easily, it was probably because she was much smaller then her, though they were the same age, “Haha! I got youuu!” She teased, “Heeeey! That's not fair, you didn’t warn meeee!” She said, Robinkit laughed, “If we were real w-'' she was cut off by Squirrelkit sliding out from under her paws.
“‘If we were real warriors I wouldn’t warn you’, blah blah blah, you’ve said that a million times!” She said sitting down and watching Robinkit. “Stiiilll,”Robinkit said flicking her tail as a sign she didn't want to continue that conversation, “how about we go see the elders, they have TONS of stories to tell!” Squirlkit smirked and opened her mouth to respond, but Robinkit was already on her way to the Elders den.
Robinkit stopped at the fallen tree, “Anyone in there?” She asked, poking her head inside quietly, in case they were sleeping. “I’m here Robinkit.” Meowed a raspy voice inside, “Come in, but be quiet, Stubtail is asleep.” Robinkit walked in, and Squirrelkit followed. It was dark, but once their eyes adjusted they could easily see, Robinkit looked at Stubtail’s body laying in the far corner of the tree. Squirrelkit was looking at the elder who had spoken to them, “Who are you?” she asked curiously.
“Their name is MapleFur.” Robinkit answered for her.
Mapelfur purred as Robinkit turned towards her. Maplefur’s coat looked like tree bark and her under pelt was white as snow, she was beautiful. But then there was her face. Half of it was terribly scared, and it looked terrible. Maplefur had told Robin the story behind it many times, but never told it to Squirrelkit. “Can you tell Squirrelkit about how you got your scars?” She asked.
“Why not.” Maplefur replied. Squirrelkit bed to Maplefur as the elder sat up, “Is it really bad? I don’t like really bad stories..” She added nervously. “It’s not tooo bad, just listen!'' Robinkit.
Maplefur cleared her throat, “Once upon a time, I was an apprentice, me, my mentor, Sharpclaws; Lightpaw, and Darkpaw were on a border patrol, its where we go over borders to watch out for bad guys.” She started. “We were walking along the Stoneclan border and refreshing the sent markers. As we were doing it I thought I smelled something weird, though I brushed it away. But, as we continued walking it got stronger, and soon, there was a huge fox. Bigger than anything you have seen!”
Squirrelkit moved closer to Robinkit, “It attacked us, lightpaw ran away, but the rest of us couldn’t escape. It attacked my face, killed Darkpaw and Sharpclaws, and ran off.” she ended. ”Killed?” Asked Squirrelkit, Maplefur nodded solemnly.
“Can you tell us another?” Robinkit asked excitedly. Maplefur shook her head, “I think that's enough for today Robinkit.” Robinkit frowned, her excitement going away, “Alright.” She said, getting ready to leave with Squirrelkit following her. “Good-bye for now, Robinkit.”
Later Robinkit was wandering the camp, alone. Squirrelkit had left to play with Featherkit, her brother, for a while. She saw a few warriors talking, and decided to Listen to them. One was cream with blue eyes, and the other was gray with yellow eyes. “You think I should take on an apprentice?” The white one asked, “Yes I do, you're courageous, smart, and quick-witted. We should let you pass on your skills.” The gray one answered.
“B-But I’ve only been a warrior for about a moon or so!” That’s when it hit Robinkit, this cream cat was CreamPelt, they were a young warrior, nervous but reliable when needed. “I know that, but I really think you should.” The gray one continued, standing. “Wait! There is another thing I’m worried about…” CreamPelt said, making the gray one stop and sit back down, “It’s Maplefur, she’s getting old, and I’m afraid she’s going to join starclan soon.” They continued.
The gray one shook his head, “Yes, they will pass soon. But hopefully not that soon.”
Robinkit stopped listening, Maplefur? Joining Starclan soon? She thought. She began running towards the elders tree, I don’t want Maplefur to die! She thought, closing her eyes. Then, she hit something, she opened her eyes to see one of the older warriors, black and white with green eyes. “Where are you off to in such a rush?” They smiled at her. “I heard some warriors, a-and they said Maplefur is going to join Starclan soon!” She told them. The older warrior smiled, “Well they are wrong. Maplefur shouldn't be going for a long time.”
Robinkit breathed a sigh of relief. “Good.” she told him sternly, “No one dies on my watch!” the warrior laughed, “Yep.” he said. “And one day I will be leader!” she continued.
“Maybe, if you become leader, you will be a great one.” Robinkit smiled, “What is your name?” she asked, “Spottedpelt. You must be Robinkit.” He meowed. Robinkit liked it when cats remembered her name, it made her feel good. “Yep!” Robinkit looked up at the sky, the sun was getting low, This is exactly what I didn’t want to happen! She knew her mom would be mad, she wasn't allowed to be gone this long. “I have to go, my mom doesn't want me being gone this long!” she meowed running away. As she ran she heard Spottedpelt say good-bye.
She moved through the bush into the nursery, “Welcome back Robinkit,” Her mom said. “Sorry, I was talking to Spottedpelt.”
Chapter 3
Creampelt
Robinkit awoke to a voice, “Robinkit? Robinkit come on!” she opened her eyes to see Sunkit’s blind eyes looking at her, “There's no tricking me Robinkit, I know it's you. I have memorized your scent!” Robinkit smiled, standing up. Sunkit moved back a little, “Today we become apprentices!” said Robinkit loudly, jumping up and down. Sunkit smiled, she liked it when Robinkit was happy.
Robinkit stepped out into the sunlight, it was mid-day by then. I wonder who will be my mentor! She thought eagerly running up to tall tree. By the time she was at tall tree she noticed Sunkit had followed her outside, and now sat looking nervous as cats shuffled around near her. She ran back to Sunkit, “I didn't know you followed me.” She said quietly.
“I think our ceremony will start soon.” meowed Sunkit.
“Mhm,” mumbled Robinkit, “let's wait by tall tree, come on!”
Robinkit led Sunkit around where she saw meetings being held before. They both sat down and Robinkit watched as a white cat came out of the hole in the tree. The white cat climbed up the tree and stood on a large branch.
“Treestar is here!” Robinkit whispered to Sunkit.
Treestar sat down and called the clan, “All cats old enough to climb the tallest trees gather under Tall Tree for a clan meeting.” Robinkit looked around as cats gathered.
Once almost everyone was there he began to speak, “Today we have four kits who have reached the age of six moons. Robinkit, Sunkit, Squirrelkit, and Featherkit please step forward.” Robinkit stood and walked up, she noticed the other kits following. Once they were all in a line Treestar continued, “From this point on until you get your warrior names you will be known as: Robinpaw, Sunpaw, Squirrelpaw, and Featherpaw.”
Robinpaw beamed, Time to see who will be my mentor! She thought
“Now I must address mentors. Robinpaw, your mentor will be Creampelt. Squirrelpaw, your mentor will be Blackclaw. And lastly, Featherpaw, your mentor will be Sharpclaws.” He concluded.
Robinpaw ran up to her new mentor, and so did the others. She reached to touch noses with them, “Wait,” they told her. She turned back to the leader as they spoke again, “I hope your new mentors will pass down all they know to you.”
Robinpaw realized Treestar didn’t say Sunpaw’s mentor! She was about to speak up about it, but Treestar spoke again.
“Sunpaw, step forward. It has been brought to my attention that you have wanted to become a medicine cat instead of a warrior?” He asked her. Robinkit was supprised, and she thought the other kits would be, too.
“Yes, I do.” Sunpaw responded.
“Then by the power given to me, I make you the Medicine cat apprentice of this clan.” All the cats that had gathered around started coming up to the new apprentices, calling them by their new names. The first cat to call her by her new name was her new mentor.
“I can’t wait to start our training, Robinpaw.” He said. Robinpaw nodded, but she was still confused as to why Sunpaw choose the patch of a Medicine cat.
“Can I talk to Sunpaw?” She asked. When Creampelt nodded she ran off to her. “Sunpaw!” She meowed.
“Oh, hello, Robinpaw.” She responded as the sun pushed past the clouds. “I guess you may be confused why I wanted to become a Medicine cat…”
Hope you enjoyed it!
