His eyes contained pure anger as he darted across the sandy plain, claws unsheathed. I crouched lower, gathering energy in my hind legs as I braced myself. Suddenly, he leaped at me, his teeth bared into a snarl. Instinctively, I swung my paw at him, catching him on his cheek, and knocking him off course into the ground. As fast as lightning, he spun on his heels and leaped again, this time slightly higher to avoid my paw, his teeth glowing purple. "You always liked using fox-dung tricks," I muttered through clenched teeth as I swung backwards. But I was a heartbeat too late. His teeth connected with my shoulder, and an intense fiery pain shot through my leg. But that wasn't the worst part. A scorching purple poison seeped into my flesh, burning away my flesh. Staggering, I weakly batted my enemy away, too shocked to do anything else. He took advantage of my delay to retaliate and slid under me, slashing fiercely at my belly. More blood seeped out of my cuts, staining the sand below me a horrid murky red color. My vision blurred as I felt consciousness... slipping out of my grasp... No! I shouted inwardly. I could not lose! Focusing the remainders of my energy, I concentrated on healing my cuts. A soothing green glow surrounded me, and I felt the bite and the slashes turn back into skin and flesh, a process that would've taken moons to heal by itself. But I could still feel the venom running in my veins, scorching away flesh and poisoning blood. I had to end this quickly.
The other cat glared at me, clearly hoping that his last strike finished me.
"I forgot about how cowardly you were, always hiding behind your healing powers, and mouse-brained defensive tactics."
His words stirred my emotions, and a red haze of rage filled my mind. It lent me energy, and I dashed towards my adversary, fire coursing through my veins. He ducked, trying to reach my belly again, but I was faster, and smashed my paw into his head. There was a sickening crunch as he crumpled to the floor, defeated. His amber eyes flickered open for a moment, and he muttered hoarsely,"Fool! Just wait till I've learned a few more moves. Then I'll crush you like you deserve!". I smiled smugly back at him and replied, "Yeah, right! I've beaten you twelve times, and how many have you? That's right, none." His mouth curled into a snarl right before fatigue overtook him, and he blacked out. Happily, I basked in pride for a few moments before realizing that I would have to tow him all the way back to camp.
The two apprentices woke to see a certain pretty tortoiseshell she-cat standing over them. "Really, do you two have to fight every day?" she muttered as she applied a marigold poultice to their wounds, sounding more annoyed than worried, "There's only so many herbs in the world, you know."
"Sorry Spottedleaf, but we're just training! We need to practice our warrior skills!", chorused the two apprentices.
"And that's why you'll be spending the next moon picking the elders' ticks!" A voice boomed.
The apprentices spun around to see Lionheart at the entrance of the medicine den. In a kinder voice, he told them , "We need strong, responsible warriors to take care of our Clan. Not some mouse-brained apprentices who try to rip each other apart every two heartbeats. Being a warrior is not just about fighting, its about being responsible, and helping your fellow Clanmates. By fighting, you two used up Spottedleaf's supplies. Then if there were more hurt cats, Spotttedleaf wouldn't be able to treat them."
Firepaw and Dustpaw glanced at each other and sighed. This was going to be a long, smelly day.

First story, yay!
This was going to turn out a lot different than what it is now, sorry if you are confused by it. The first section is about Firepaw fighting Dustpaw, from Firepaw's POV. The second part is after they return to ThunderClan camp, and get in trouble. Hope it wasn't too bad, and critique is appreciated. Thank you for reading!
