THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO DEFEATING SHARPTOOTH
[NOTE: While you are in the mountains, go hunting. Catch as many Falcons as you can. They restore all states, SP, and HP to ALL your party members.]
SHARPCLAW'S KNOWN MOVES (Lvl 36)
[Going by what I experienced. May be more]
Claws of Destruction - Hurts all in party
Killing Bite - Knocks-out, but misses a lot.
Basic Attack - Not too powerful but can still create decent damage.
Remedy - Poison moves will almost never hit anyway. Heals venom.
THERE MAY BE MORE!!
1. First, make sure you're up by that lonely cave on the mountain. Keep training just outside of it until at least one cat knows Claws of Destruction, learned at level 30 or 35, I think. After every battle, save so that if you lose the next one you won't lose all the EP.
2. The other three cats should have at least Claw Shred or Warrior Strike. (For Brambleclaw, Feathertail, and Stormfur, Claw Shred is learned at lvl 21. For Tawnypelt, lvl 23)When training, don't be afraid to fight the big gang of cats.
3. If you having trouble getting down the mountain, and by the time you get to Sharptooth your all beaten up, here's a good strategy: When descending, save every couple ten steps. This way, if you get poisoned or hurt at all, turn off the game WITHOUT SAVING and you'll turn up a couple paces away. Lengthening, but affective, like taking five steps forward then one step back. [NOTE: There is a switch spot HALF-WAY down. Buy herbs or prey here, or heal if needed. You can train on the way down to the *Switch Spot. From this point on, escape fights so you're ready to battle Sharptooth all fresh.]
4. I strongly suggest having Brambleclaw, Tawnypelt, Stormfur and Feathertail in your party. (WARNING: Don't spend too much stuff like fish, adders, and birds on Feathertail. If you have her in your party, you WILL lose her after fighting Sharptooth!
5. Follow one of these guides depending on your level range:
Lvl 40+
This battle should be a snap for you. How the heck did you get so high a level only this far into the game?
Just keep using Warrior Strike or Claws of Destruction (lvl 49). Even so, you may not win the first time. Watch out: he can stun and poison your whole party.
LVL 30-39
Keep using Claw Shred over and over, or whatever strongest move you have. Since you're at a lower level, poisoning and paralyzing only has a 10% chance of working, so don't waste SP trying to do that. It may take you two or three tries on average. But don't feel depressed if it takes you longer: I'm only estimating. If you do it the first time, awesome work!
LVL 21-29
It'll be a harder battle. Keep using Claw Shred over and over. If you have Stormfur or/and Feathertail, use his/her "Flowing River" move. (Learned at lvl 26) I'm sure Crowpaw has a special move as well, but I didn't have him, so I'm not sure what it is.
Keep striking him with these moves. Careful of Sharptooth's poisoning and stunning attacks; They'll attack your whole party. When needed, use a catnip or any healing item. If all your party's almost knocked out, use a falcon. Make sure you don't use these for just if their SP is low; you can only get falcons in the mountain.
There is only ~5% chance your stunning/poison moves will hit him. So don't waste SP.
10-19
Hopeless case. Get back up the mountain and train harder!
*The Switch Spot here is a yellow flower. Half-way down the mountain will be a big open space with a navy floor (I have no idea what THAT'S about) in the middle is the flower.
