What if Mudclaw was leader instead of Onewhisker?
A Warriors Alternate Universe Fan-Fic

Disclaimer:This story will not make any sort of attempt to stay Canon or probably even somewhat Canon. I will not simply be changing Windclan's leader and telling the second half of NP from Windclan's point of view, as that would be boring. I will be creating a mostly new storyline. Certain events from the books may be kept intact, but the majority will be altered or replaced.
Prologue:
"Firestar. Firestar. I need to tell you something" rasped Tallstar. Brambleclaw lurked nearby and Firestar was quite close to Tallstar's left ear. Tallstar was on his last life and on his deathbed, and now his last words were about to be heard. "Even though we have reached our new home, Windclan needs leadership that make that new home work. I am confident that Mudclaw will provide that, but there is something else..."
"What?" Said Firestar. Still young and on his fourth life, Firestar had years ahead of him, and his deathbed was nowhere on the horizon.
"Mudclaw has a unusual temptation for fighting" Said Tallstar "While it would be wrong to not allow him to be leader, I do think it is right for his first deputy to be a more calm cat that can help control Mudclaw's fighting spirit. This will be a cat who has already shown willingness to be friendly with even other clans. I speak of Onewhisker. I want him to be made Onestar's Deputy. It is my last wish." And with that, Tallstar took a couple more breaths, shuddered, and seemed to recover. Breathing raggedly, he said "Please. make sure my last wish is fulfilled. Mudclaw will succeed me, but Onewhisker will be his deputy."
And with that, Tallstar shuddered again, and then his breathing stopped. He lay there, unmoving. His heart quickly stopped and didn't start back up. Tallstar was dead.
