A Brown - colored tabby Tom padded up steep rocks and into a small den-like tunnel. " I have come ," The Tom murmured. " I see " rasped a shecat's voice cracked with age. " You have done well BrownTail " The old cat meowed proudly. " I don't understand why you wanted to reward me though.." BrownTail meowed. " I don't think I should tell you yet " She meowed softly. " LeafFang... Are you alright? Is anything wrong? " BrownTail started. " Im FINE BrownTail! " LeafFang meowed quickly. "Get it overwith mouse-brain! " Another tom's voice hissed. BrownTail's ears perked up and he unsheathed his claws. Then, Out of nowhere, LeafFang collapsed. " LeafFang! " BrownTail rushed over to the old cat. " Well, We'll be on our way... " That word ' WE ' Didn't sound promising...

" Hey! " SwiftStar meowed chasing a small kit. " You can't catch me! " The kit bounded up ontop of the medicine cat's den. " Hey! " Yowled BrambleLeaf as she looked up to see a kit jumping down off of her roof. Suddenly, On DirtPath, BrownTail limped over to SwiftStar pitifully. "Rogue-cats attacked and killed LeafFang.. " The tom's eyes clouded with emotion. SwiftStar nudged him with her muzzel. " We shall send BrokenFang, LeafTail, ShadeClaw, and AppleTuft over to investigate. " The LakeClan Leader's eyes met BrownTail's. " It'll be okay " She murmured. " I'll go to Brambleleaf's den to check for any of MY OWN injuries " He dipped his head respectfully and bounded off. AppleTuft padded to SwiftStar and dipped her head. " AppleTuft! What is it you need? " The leader asked.
" Well.. We found evidence of Rogues... The same ones that stole our fresh-kill. " Appletuft nodded at the poor-looking fresh-kill pile. " Well we'll find them soon enough " SwiftStar meowed. Appletuft padded to the warriors den busily. Climbing-Moon was approaching slowly. SwiftStar padded to her den and fell asleep. The next climbing-sun SwiftStar awoke earlier than usual. She padded outside and checked inside the nursery for kits. She sat down and smiled at WaterFur. " How are your adorable kits? " SwiftStar purred. " They actually are kind of feverish. " Waterfur murmured " I'll ask BrambleLeaf to see them " SwiftStar volunteered. " Okay.. " BrambleLeaf meowed. Swiftstar took a few kits by the scruff on their neck and carried them to Brambleleaf's den. " Brambleleaf! Waterfur's kits are feverish," Swiftstar said anxiously. " I will see to them as soon as possible SwiftStar. " She replied working on different mixes. " Well, I'll see you Brambleleaf. " She meowed and padded off. Swiftstar went to her den and decided that today she would act sophisticated and like an ACTUAL leader. " Ahem..." Swiftstar rocked on her paws waiting for SOMETHING, ANYTHING to happen. " Swiftstar! " In came her apprentice Willowpaw. Swiftstar sighed... " Yes Willowpaw? " She meowed. " We spotted the rogues! " She mewed anxiously. " Really?! " Swiftstar bounded outside only to find rogues with kits in their mouths. " HEY! " Swiftstar ran after them and took the kits from their mouth." Claws, Scratches, and a squealing kits " Said Swiftstar remembering. " Just rest, We took the kits. They'll be ok. " Swiftstar loosened her muscles and put her head on her paws. One moon had passed and no rogue cats where about. Swiftstar padded over to the warriors den.

Leaftail was cleaning himself and Appletuft was not inside. " Where are the others? " Swiftstar asked. " Humtih " Leaftail said with his tongue in his fur. Leaftail raised his head " I mean Hunting. " He corrected himself. " I didn't send them, who did? " She meowed confused. Leaftail's ears flattened. " Actually.... They are looking for the rogues. " He said and put his head down. " oh no.... " Swiftstar padded outside and bounded off toward her warrior's scent. She stopped and her ears flattened. Cats' were scattered on a battlefield... " oh no!!! " Swiftstar ran over to them and realized these weren't her warriors! The rogues... Swiftstar couldn't help but feel proud, And angry at the same time. Swiftstar bounded to camp and all the warriors were putting fresh-kill in the pile." Freshkill and deafeated rogues? Well done. " She meowed thoughtfully. " But who sent you? " " ummmmm " All the warriors looked around... " The cat HAD LakeClan scent...... " Swiftstar nodded and padded away. Brokenfang padded to Swiftstar and dipped his head. " We need you for permission of hunting. " " Okay, But be back before climbing-moon. " She meowed. Swiftstar padded into her den and sat with a yawn, she fell silently asleep. " Swiftstar! Swiftstar! Wake up lazy bones! " Swiftstar blinked three times and sat up. " Yes? " She meowed. "The rogues are back AGAIN!" Browntail meowed anxiously. " Lets go... " Swiftstar said. They bounded toward the clearing and guess what they saw?!
