Okay, so I'm on the part right after the battle with Leopardstar and the RC warriors, when Graystripe comes back to the clan after joining RC. After the battle, I noticed no training battles were popping up, anywhere I went. What do I do???

No, this is much later in the game. But I've passed several events since then and still none of those random Training Battles are popping up.
