Bestiary
This bestiary is a guide to all non-boss enemies. What qualifies as a boss? An enemy required to fight to pass any part of the storyline. All non-boss enemies can be fought more than once.
ThunderClan Warrior (Lv.8)
HP- 1600
Moves- Basic Attack (Scratch), Defend, Claw Slash, Stunning Bite
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw)- 6-8
Groups- 1, 1+Mousefur, 1+RiverClan Warrior+ ShadowClan Warrior+ WindClan Warrior
Strategy- The ThunderClan Warrior alone should be the very first enemy you even try to fight in NP because you start of so weak. Multiple Paw Swipes will bring him down. Beware of his Stunning Bite, which can stop one of your cats from acting for several turns.
He gives about 100 EXP when defeated. After you have trained until he becomes too easy, you have several choices of other cats to train on before going on to your journey and the harder Level 16 Rogue cats. You can pick Mousefur, ShadowClan Warriors, or RiverClan Warriors, but not Badgers.
Drops- Mouse
Mousefur
HP- 1000
Moves- Basic Attack (Blow), Defend, Escape, Claw Slash. Poison Chomp, Stunning Bite, Medium Heal, Remedy
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw)- 8-12
Groups- 1, 1+ThunderClan Warrior
Strategy- You should not train on Mousefur at the early levels even though she has less HP than the ThunderClan Warrior. She has stronger offense and defense than him; she can use the dangerous Poison Chomp, and has the annoying tendency to run away, leaving you with nothing but battle wounds. Even at The Training Hollow.
At around 8 you should have enough power in Claw Slash to bring her down in three or so hits. She gives about 500 EXP, higher than the ThunderClan Warriors, but not the other Clan Warriors.
Drops- Pheasant
RiverClan Warrior (Lv.11)
HP- 1350
Moves- Basic Attack (Scratch), Claw Slash, Flowing River, Medium Heal, Greater Remedy
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw)- 13-16
Groups- 2, 1+ThunderClan Warrior+ ShadowClan Warrior+ WindClan Warrior
Strategy- The RiverClan Warrior is the most difficult of the three choices of later training. They have the greatest amount of HP and can deal a lot of damage with Flowing River, the first Clan-based attack you will see here. It can take three Claw Slashes to take one down. However, they are near the Sunningrocks, an area where you can rest and heal for free at a certain patch of stone.
They also give the most EXP, about 1700, and drop Fish, a stat booster that permanently increases your max HP by 20.
Do not train on them at the lake, instead try WindClan Warriors.
Drops- Fish
ShadowClan Warrior (Lv. 7)
HP- 1000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Defend, Claw Slash, Stunning Bite
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw)- 12-16
Groups- 2, 1+RiverClan Warrior+ ThunderClan Warrior+ WindClan Warrior
Strategy- Despite their levels, the ShadowClan Warrior is surprisingly strong. They can deal quite a lot of damage, and their defenses aren’t too bad, either.
Thankfully, they have a rather shallow movepool, very similar to the ThunderClan Warriors’. But, another difference, other than strength, is the amount of EXP given. They give about 1000 after each battle, compared to the ThunderClanners, who give only about 100. They also drop Antivenom, a useful herb that cures Venom, instead of mice.
One con from training on them is that they are pretty far from the nearest healing location, the ThunderClan camp.
Do not train on them at the lake, instead try WindClan Warriors.
Drops- Antivenom
Badger (Lv. 21)
HP- 15000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Defend, Claw Shred, Motherly Softness (Feeble), Medium Heal
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw) - Do not train, at least 40 to fight
Groups- 1, 2 (Training Grounds)
Strategy- DO NOT fight this enemy before your journey. At level 21 it can defeat you really easily. Escape from it at all costs.
But after you return from your journey, you can easily defeat it with your best attacks. It is not recommended to train on because of the low EXP it gives (about 1700).
It’s not recommended to fight these at the Training Grounds unless you have extra time.
Drops- Catnip
Rogue Cat (Lv.16)
HP- 1500
Moves- Claw Shred, Medium Heal, Remedy, Hyper Poison, Stunning Crush
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw)- 16-33
Groups- 1, 2, 3, 5
Strategy- Only fight them after you have placed four cats in your party at a switch spot. Don’t bother statusing them because they have Remedy. Just keep hitting them with your best attacking moves. At first it will take several Claw Slashes to defeat them, but later Claw Shreds will make it a lot easier.
Beware of status conditions from Rogue Cats; at lower levels you may want to escape if you get one and rest and a nearby switch spot as stun is very dangerous. Avoid using Remedy if possible because it uses a lot of SP.
Rouge Cats aren’t all bad, though. They frequently suffer from artificial stupidity, using Remedy when they don’t even have a status condition.
The accuracy stones they drop now are better off sold because they aren’t particularly useful and can be sold for a hefty profit.
And last but not least, these guys are everywhere. You’ll perfect your flee reflex in no time.
Drops- Accuracy Stone
Angry Badger (Lv. 12)
HP-2500
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Defend, Motherly Softness, Claw Shred, Medium Heal
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw)- 9+
Strategy- This is the same creature as the boss. This creature appears only at Sun-drown place.
Groups- 1
Drops- Catnip
Tribe Cat (Lv. 22)
HP- 3000
Moves- Basic Attack (Cut), Claw Shred, Warrior Strike, Mountain Strike, Maximal Heal, Revival
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw) - 33-49 (If you need a lot of training at the lake, here is the best spot to do it.
Groups- 5
Strategy- These cats hit pretty hard for their level- they also like to team up on one of your cats and are pretty bulky. Hopefully you’ve been training on the rouges!
Maximal Heal is also mean, if it takes more than one or two hits to knock out each cat, they’ll heal and all the damage you just did to them will count for nothing. Revival is not as bad, though, as long as they don’t Maximal Heal right after a Revival. Just remember who was revived and hit them with a Claw Slash. Another good thing about their Revival is that, when they use it, they frequently try to revive the same cat, which is just a waste of their SP.
Status Effects won’t be too useful unless you have a group move that causes them. Speaking of group moves, 49 is the best level to train Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw up to because he learns Claws of Destruction, which will not only bring the Tribe Cats’ to their knees, but will also be extremely helpful against Sharptooth.
If you have either Stormfur(recommended) or Feathertail(not recommended), you may also get River of Rage at level 41, which is an powerful group move that may also stun and venom enemies, and is great against Sharptooth.
Drops- Eagle
WindClan Warrior (Lv. 14)
HP- 1650
Moves- Basic Attack (Slice), Defend, Warrior Strike, Swirling Winds, Claw Shred, Medium Heal
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw)- Whenever you need training in the Lake territories, but if you want you can go back to the Tribe to train.
Groups- 3, 1+RiverClan Warrior+ ThunderClan Warrior+ ShadowClan Warrior
Strategy- By now you should be high enough a level to defeat them with any group move.
Drops- Rabbit
Mighty Eagle (Lv.37)
HP- 11500
Moves- Talon Shred, Tornado Shred, Mountain Blast, Mega Heal, Remedy
Recommended Levels- 70
Groups- 1 (Enemy is only at mountain eagle area and Training Grounds)
Strategy- The Mighty Eagle is actually pretty easy. At the levels you face it as; you should have no trouble bringing it down in one turn with four group moves. They give out a good amount of EXP, and can drop the amazing item Eagle, but the main problem is of SP.
It’s not recommended to fight these at the Training Grounds unless you have extra time.
A warning- In the mountains, the nearest healing area is the Tribe. That will make it monotonous to get from and to the Mighty Eagles, and since they don’t drop Eagles all the time, you will be using up a lot of time.
Last, wind-based moves like Tornado Shred do more damage against it then usual, so using WindClan cats is a good idea while fighting it.
Drops- Eagle
Fox (Lv. 34)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Claws of Destruction, Depletion, Killing Bite, Mega Heal
Recommended Level- 70 (You should be here by now)
Groups- 1 (Training Grounds)
Strategy-
You may remember the fox as a boss at earlier in the game. More information will be included on it on the Bosses section.
It’s not recommended to fight these at the Training Grounds unless you have extra time. (Also, having Depletion, it’s even more annoying, so you might not want to fight it.)
Drops- Catnip
2 Highly Skilled Cats (Lv. 51)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Slash), Claws of Destruction, Status Blast, Killing Bite, Remedy
Recommended Level- 73
Recommended Items- Catnip. They use up a lot of your SP.
Strategy- These cats are from The Might of Scourge, but also appear in Training Grounds. Tiger Crush or Tiger Destruction works well on them due to the high amount of damage, but the weaker Claws of Destruction or others will too. They mostly just have a lot of HP.
Note that training on them is difficult due to the lack of healing areas nearby.
Drops- Accuracy Stone
Mighty Guardian 1 (Lv. 53), Mighty Guardian 2 (Lv. 53), and Mighty Guardian 3 (Lv. 53)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Slash), Killing Bite, Warrior Destruction, Claws of Destruction, Status Blast
Recommended Training Levels (Brambleclaw)- 80-99
Groups- They always come in groups of 6, 2 of each kind of guardian. This was not added to their names since it made it very confusing.
Strategy- They can be extremely annoying with Status Blast and Killing Bite, so it’s important to status them quickly. Tiger Crush/Destruction works really well at this, so do the other stun-poison moves. After that, Fiery Fury can take them out in one hit. Then spam them and Claws of Destruction and you should win quickly. They are great training and money earners, so it’s a great idea to train on them in the later levels. If you plan on fighting them at lower levels, remember to heal between battles so you don’t lose good experience in an accident.
Drops- Mysterious Object (1), Mysterious Object (2), Mysterious Object (3)
29748 EXP, 117288 A
Bosses
Note all HP amounts are estimates.
Angry Badger (Lv. 12)
HP-2500
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Defend, Motherly Softness, Claw Shred, Medium Heal
Recommended Level (Brambleclaw)- 10
Recommended Items- None
Strategy- Level 8 is the bare minimum for this boss- Claw Slash is a must.
The Angry Badger is the first boss you face on NP. Beware of Motherly Softness and Claw Shred which can both do 1000 damage, each! Fortunately, she uses them fairly rarely compared to her other moves, so just keep using Claw Slash and she’ll fall quickly. If you get below 1000 HP on either of your cats, use Squirrelpaw’s Minimal Heal to help the injured character, as her Claw Slash does not do as much damage as Brambleclaw’s.
Furious Kittypet (Lv. 20) and Furious Kittypet Leader (Lv. 23)
Furious Kittypet (Lv. 20)
HP-3500
Furious Kittypet Leader (Lv. 23)
HP-4500
Moves- Basic Attack (Scratch), Claw Shred, Stunning Crush, Hyper Poison, Maximal Heal
Recommended Level- 23, minimum is after all your cats learn Claw Shred.
Recommended Items- Antivenom, Yarrow, Rabbit, Pheasant
Items are very optional for this battle. You most likely will not run out of SP if you’re at a high enough level and status problems can be solved with a simple Remedy. But if you still want to prepare some choices are listed above.
Antivenom- Removes Venom status. Relatively cheap. This herb comes in handy for the kittypets’ Hyper Poison.
Yarrow- Removes all status effects. Quite a steeper price to pay than Antivenom, but yarrow deals with pesky stun as well as venom.
Rabbits- Heals all HP. Pretty good if you’re out of SP for a healing move.
Pheasants- Heals 2000 HP and SP. A nice healer for emergencies.
Other Items: Catnips heal all HP and SP, but Pheasants will do just about the same job at this level, and are a bit cheaper. Juniper Berries. I only heals 500 SP, which is barely enough for one Claw Shred, II is 1000, which still is kind of meh, and Ultra costs more than a Catnip.
Mice heal 500 HP; also a rather pitiful amount and Squirrels are even worse, healing only 200.
Adders, Fish, and Birds are not battle items; they’re for raising maximum stats.
Finally, your accuracy cannot be lowered in this battle, so Accuracy Stones are pretty useless.
Strategy- These enemies have the same movesets, just different HP amounts. Claw Shred them to victory! Venom will not be of much help because it misses a lot and venom is not that powerful at this level. Stun is nice, but if you’re up to that level, you can beat them without a problem.
Pick off the weaker kittypet first because they have the same movesets, and the sooner you get out of the double poison/stun combo, the better.
Drops-Bird/Catnip
Dirty Rats (Lv. 25)
HP- There are six rats, each with about 1000 HP.
Moves- Claw Shred, Medium Heal, Stunning Crush, Toxic Blast (Group Venom)
Recommended Level- 25, minimum is after all your cats learn Claw Shred.
Recommended Items- Antivenom, Yarrow, Pheasant/Catnip
Strategy- These rats are all the same. Same HP, moves, everything. They each have rather low HP, only 1000, which is less than even the rogue cats! However, they are very dangerous as there are so many of them. Usually, on their first turn, they will mostly try to stun you with Stunning Crush (somehow). With all those rats, all your cats will most likely be stunned. And then, they will hit you with Toxic Blast, which is basically Hyper Poison except more accurate. Again, you will most likely be poisoned. Last, they will try to finish you off with Claw Shred. The worst part of it all is that they will repeatedly use Stunning Crush again and again and again so you won’t be able to do anything except watch.
The way to counter this strategy is to pick off as many of them as possible on the first round. Claw Shred works fine here, but be sure to target the right rats to be the most efficient. If you are at a high enough level, you can pick off three or four in one turn. The remaining rats will most likely not be a problem anymore then.
Do not attempt to venom or stun the rats. It’s too risky to have a cat try a status move instead of attacking, and statuses are not as useful with the rats’ low individual HP and the lack of power in venom. You may want to save your Golden Fish for a later battle, too.
Drops- None
Eagle (Lv. 26)
HP- 10000
Moves- Basic Attack (Scratch), Remedy, Mountain Strike, Tornado Shred (Delay Group), Talon Shred (Group)
Recommended Level- 28 for Brambleclaw, after at least two of your cats learn Stunning Bite
Recommended Items- None.
Strategy- The Mighty Eagle has a lot of HP- but the good thing is that there’s only one enemy! That makes for great stunning and venom. Remember to stun first and venom later.
More good news is that the Eagle doesn’t have status moves! No need for Remedy or Yarrow or Antivenom.
And that’s where the good news ends. With both Tornado Shred and Talon Shred, she can hit all members of your cats at once, and with repeated hits, take them out quickly. Brute forcing Claw Shred usually does not work too well as it takes about three turns to finish her off. Three turns of Shredding will most likely fell all your cats. Also, Tornado Shred can cause Delay, a status in which your cats move slower and, well, Delay! Then the Eagle will usually move faster than the Delayed cats, making healing difficult. So be ready to stun and poison!
Drops- None
Sharptooth (Lv. 36)
HP- 20000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Claws of Destruction, Sharp Smash (Poison and Stun Group), Mountain Blast, Killing Bite, Remedy, Mega Heal
Recommended Level-
Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight- at least level 49
Stormfur and Feathertail – at least 41, hopefully higher
Crowfeather- at least 46
Tawnypelt- at least 47, recommended 51
Recommended Items- Eagle, Catnip, Falcon
Catnip- Heals all HP and SP of one cat. You will have outgrown Pheasants by now.
Eagle- Heals all HP and SP of all your cats, and restores states. This is a last-second item. Eagles are rather rare, but you will probably have accumulated a few from training on Tribe cats. Be careful to not waste these.
Falcon- Heals 1000 HP and SP to all cats. These birds can be found by hunting at the mountain rock. They are useful if you can’t use a healing move because of lack of SP. They do not heal a great amount, though, so be cautious when using these.
Antivenom and Yarrow were removed from the list because the only status move Sharptooth has is in Sharp Smash, one that could status all your cats, and where Greater Remedy would have been a much better option.
Also, since Sharptooth’s only move that damages one cat is his Basic Attack, which is weak. Rabbits are therefore removed as a recommended item because Maximal Heal works better as a group healer.
Strategy- Ah, Sharptooth. The mountain lion scourge of all tribe cats. And now, probably you.
Sharptooth is a fearsome opponent. He knows some very dangerous abilities that can damage your whole party like Claws of Destruction, Sharp Smash, and Mountain Blast. Sharp Smash also can both stun and poison all the cats in your party. Killing Bite is downright annoying, but thankfully it misses often. Mega Heal is also merciful, as he does not heal himself much.
Sharptooth has the remarkable ability to recover from stun extremely fast, usually in one turn, so Stunning Bite will not have much use except to waste SP. Venom, however, is better as it will not wear out until he uses Remedy.
The key to defeating Sharptooth is power. Claw Shred is not powerful enough now- Claws of Destruction will be much stronger. Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw learn it at the crucial level of 49, and although it will cost a lot of SP to use, it is extremely powerful.
If you have a RiverClan cat on your party, this battle will be even easier. At level 41, either Stormfur or Feathertail will learn River of Rage, a group move that will use only 820 SP compared to 1100 of Claws of Destruction, and has the possibility to stun and or poison Sharptooth! It’s like using a Claws of Destruction, Stunning Bite, and Poison Chomp all in one turn!
Crowpaw at level 46 learns Tornado Shred which you may remember from the battle with the Eagle. Tornado Shred is a similarly powerful move as to Claws of Destruction or River of Rage, but it can only cause Delay, which is not a great status because you can usually move faster than Sharptooth. Also, with Crowpaw’s low attacking stats, it will not do as much damage. It’s an improvement from Claw Shred, however, and will deal about twice the damage.
Tawnypelt is a late bloomer. She gets her first group move, Claws of Destruction, at level 51, so you may have to do some extra training. But, if you are sick of training, you can just fight Sharpclaw with three of your cats’ group moves, and have her be a cleric. Tawnypelt learns Mega Revival, a nice last-moment ditch option. Also, she has a nice high natural HP stat, so she will probably be the only cat conscious to use it.
Remember healing moves are still important. By now, your cats will know Maximal Heal, which is good to counter the damage from CoD, Sharp Smash, or Mountain Blast. Also, at least one of your cats should learn Revival just in case Killing Bite hits. Greater Remedy would also be preferred in case of Sharp Smash.
Drops- Eagle
Dog (Lv.38)
HP- 13000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Claws of Destruction, Hyper Poison, Mega Heal
Recommended Level- 50
Recommended Items- Catnip, but probably you won’t need it.
Strategy- Probably one of the easiest bosses yet! The dog will mostly just do its Basic Attack. Or nothing. If you get it to low enough HP, it will try Hyper Poison and Mega Heal.
Just hit it with your best attacks and heal when necessary, which will probably be never. Also, he isn’t resistant to stun like Sharptooth, so go ahead if you really want to. The main problem from it would be if you used your SP fighting Rogues while climbing up the mountain.
Drops- None.
Killer Kittypet (Lv. 41) and Deadly Kittypet (Lv. 39)
Killer Kittypet (Lv. 41)
HP- 10000
Moves- Greater Remedy, Claws of Destruction, Mega Heal, Revival
Deadly Kittypet (Lv. 39)
HP- 7000
Moves- Basic Attack (Scratch), Claw Shred, Depletion (lose 2000 SP even if miss), Status Blast, Mega Heal, Greater Remedy, Revival
Recommended Level- 54s
Recommended Items- Catnip, Falcon, Eagle
Catnip is as useful as always, Eagles are for Status Blast and Depletion, and Falcons are for Depletion.
Strategy-
The Kittypets are glass cannons, especially the Deadly Kittypet. They have the capability to do a lot of damage, but have very low HP. The Deadly Kittypet should be your main target because of her strong moves like Depletion, which drains 2000 SP from every cat (even KO’d ones!) and forces you to use items, and Status Blast, which can easily cause all of your cats to fall asleep or be stunned. Her strength comes not from power, but from move effects. She can also revive the Deadly Kittypet for Claws of Destruction to speed up your demise.
The way against this is to defeat them as quickly as possible. On the first turn, attack them all with your party’s strongest group moves. If any of your cats have Clan-specific moves like River of Rage or Tornado Shred, use those. Avoid using anything that can miss, like Tiger Crush. If you have:
Knocked both of them out- Congrats, you win!
Knocked one of them out- The Killer Kittypet should be the one still alive because he has more HP. He is not as much of a threat as the Deadly Kittypet because his only dangerous move is Claws of Destruction, so you could beat him easily in the next round.
Didn’t knock out any of them-
Pray to StarClan and hope that Depletion is not used and you have enough SP to finish them off with another group attack. If you don’t, use an item and whatever remaining SP to target the Deadly Kittypet. If you do not have enough power to knock them out with a group move in the next round, be sure to have plenty of good items so you can survive the next few rounds. If you have stunned or poisoned them from a past group move, congratulations. Winning will be a lot easier.
Drops- Catnip
Rowanclaw (Lv. 42)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Depletion, Status Blast, Poisonous Shadows, Mighty Heal
Recommended Level- Brambleclaw- at least 54, preferably 58
Others- At reasonably high levels. Leafpaw is rather weak right at this level so it is not recommended you use her.
Recommended Items-
Strategy- Rowanclaw is a dangerous enemy. He has high HP and strong moves. Status Blast can and will put a LOT of statuses on your cats, like sleep and venom. Depletion drains away all your cats’ SP by 2000 every time he uses it; Poisonous Shadows attacks all your cats and can poison them. Mighty Heal is just plain annoying and heals just about all his HP.
To be able to survive his wrath, and to actually be able to make a dent in him, you need statuses. Fortunately, he has a very noticeable weakness- stun. This can be supplied with Brambleclaw’s Tiger Crush, Stormfur’s River of rage, or just plain ol’ Stunning Bite. Once you have him stunned, he will likely remain that way for several turns, where you can easily overpower him.
Drops- Juniper Berry Ultra
2 ShadowClan Warriors (Lv. 7), 3 RiverClan Warriors (Lv. 11), and 3 WindClan Warriors (Lv. 14)
HP- 1000, 1350, 1650 respectively.
Moves-
ShadowClan Warriors- Basic Attack (Bite), Defend, Claw Slash, Stunning Bite
RiverClan Warriors- Basic Attack (Scratch), Claw Slash, Flowing River, Medium Heal, Greater Remedy
WindClan Warriors- Basic Attack (Slice), Defend, Warrior Strike, Swirling Winds, Claw Shred, Medium Heal
Recommended Level- If you can’t beat them in one hit with Claws of Destruction with Brambleclaw, you’re not high enough.
Be around 60 for Mudclaw.
Recommended Items-
Strategy- You will face 3 groups of 8 Warriors each. Mostly they’re just SP wasters as they are so weak, but if you can’t defeat them all in one turn, they can get annoying.
If you’re low on SP after this you can go back to the ThuderClan camp to heal before fighting Mudclaw.
Drops- Antivenom, Fish, Rabbit
Mudclaw (Lv. 46)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Claws of Destruction, Warrior Destruction, Tornado Shred, Killing Bite, Depletion (ugh!), Status Blast, Remedy, Mighty Heal
Recommended Level- 60
Recommended Items- Catnip, Eagle
Strategy- Mudclaw has A LOT of moves. Fortunately, this makes it *that* much more likely for him to use Tornado Shred instead of Status Blast.
First things first- you should have less SP than usual after fighting the guards at the WindClan borders and the renegades at the camp, so you may have dashed over to the ThunderClan camp to heal between battles.
Mudclaw has the ever- annoying Killing Bite, Depletion, and Status Blast. He also learns a new boss move, Warrior Destruction, which does damage to all your cats but misses often. Mudclaw recovers from stun and poison extremely quickly so using those specific moves will not be much of a benefit. He, like many other bosses, can use Mighty Heal and regain 100% of his HP in one turn.
You want to defeat him as quickly as possible because of his moves, but you usually can’t because of his high HP. Dual-duty moves that stuns as well as attack are useful, so Tiger Crush is a possibility although it misses frequently. River of Rage, on Stormfur is always a good choice, too.
Drops- None.
Deadly Badger (Lv. 30)
HP- 15000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Claws of Destruction, Motherly Rage, Depletion, Status Blast, Remedy
Recommended Level- 60
Recommended Items- None
Strategy- The Deadly Badger is one of many badgers you’ll be facing later. She has a new move, Motherly Rage, which is a group attack that can make Feeble your cats.
Just keep attacking. She has low HP compared to other bosses.
Stun is ineffective against her, wearing off extremely quickly. Venom is a wildcard- if you suspect you can’t keep attacking with a Depletion. It’s useful because of her low HP, but there’s always a small chance she may use Remedy to cure it.
Drops- Catnip
Fox (Lv.34)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Claws of Destruction, Killing Bite, Depletion, Mega Heal
Recommended Level- 61
Recommended Items- Catnip, Eagle
Strategy- The Fox has the annoying Killing Bite, leaving you scrambling to revive and heal the dead cat. Depletion is not as often used, however, and Mega Heal only heals about 4000 HP.
Stun and venom are both useful in this battle. Venom is not resisted at all, and will likely continue for the whole battle. Stun is resisted rather strangely- move side-effects wear off quickly, but Stunning Bite doesn’t.
Otherwise, just hit it with your best attacking moves and you should be fine.
Drops- Catnip
Evil Kittypet (Lv. 42) and Evil Kittypet (Lv. 45)
Evil Kittypet (Lv. 42)
HP- 11500
Moves- Basic Attack (Scratch), Claws of Destruction, Status Blast, Depletion, Mega Heal,
Evil Kittypet (Lv. 45)
HP- 14500
Moves- Claws of Destruction, Status Blast, Killing Bite, Greater Remedy, Revival, Mega Heal
Recommended Level- 62
Recommended Items- Eagle, Catnip
Strategy- The Kittypets are back for more! They have a few new moves- well, new to them at least. But they still have the low amounts of HP we remember them by, getting only a 4500 HP increase each, so they shouldn’t be too difficult to defeat quickly.
If you can’t do that yet, do NOT try to directly stun/poison them. They both are resistant to all kinds of stun (from Stunning Bite or side effects) and both have Greater Remedy. Also, I have witnessed a strange effect where the Lv. 45 Kittypet was poisoned, and Trickery was activated because of that. All of my cats had their turn skipped. So, unless you want that to happen, don’t try statuses!
Drops- Catnip
Deadly Badger (Lv. 30) and 7 Angry Badgers(Lv. 12)
Deadly Badger (Lv. 30)
HP- 15000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Defend, Motherly Rage, Badger Crush, Status Blast, Depletion, Revival, Remedy, Mighty Heal
Angry Badger (Lv. 12)
HP- 2500
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Defend, Claw Shred, Motherly Softness, Revival, Medium Heal
Recommended Level- 62
Recommended Items- Catnip, Eagle
Strategy- The Deadly Badger should be the only one that gives you any trouble, the rest you can knock out with a few cats using Claws of Destruction. And you’ve already fought a Deadly Badger a few bosses ago so it should be even easier.
If you are struggling with this battle, stun the Deadly Badger, who will be the main source of your problems. You can also poison her.
Do not try to stun or poison the lesser badgers, they don’t have very dangerous moves and poison does extremely low damage to them.
Drops- Catnip
Russetfur (Lv. 33), Rowanclaw (Lv. 42), and 6 ShadowClan Warriors (Lv. 7)
Russetfur (Lv. 33)
HP- 16000
Moves- Claws of Destruction, Shadowy Destruction, Killing Bite, Status Blast, Greater Remedy, Mega Revival, Mega Heal
Rowanclaw (Lv. 42)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Depletion, Status Blast, Poisonous Shadows, Mighty Heal
ShadowClan Warrior (Lv. 7)
HP- 1000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Defend, Claw Slash, Stunning Bite
Recommended Level- 63
Recommended Items- Catnip, Eagle
Strategy- The ShadowClan Warriors should pose no threat at all with Claws of Destruction. Even if you can’t knock them out in one turn (very unlikely) they mostly only defend, too.
Rowanclaw you have fought before. He is still vulnerable to stun, but Russetfur will use Greater Remedy to cure him. He also knows Mighty Heal, but with all the cats he is most likely to heal an inconsequential one.
Russetfur is most dangerous paired with Rowanclaw. Shadowy Destruction is a group move that can poison all your cats, Killing Bite is annoying, and she uses Greater Remedy with actual intelligence. Mega Revival is not usually a problem because all of the revived cats will be at low HP, and ShadowClan Warriors are extremely easy to beat. Mega Heal heals a pretty low amount. But Status Blast is dangerous because Rowanclaw has it too, and when they use it together, the strongest warriors fall.
Usually, defeating them in a few turns is difficult. By then, they can status and defeat you. But there is a stunning method.
In the stunning method, you want to aim for Russetfur first because she has Greater Remedy. After you get her stunned, Rowanclaw. They are both vulnerable to stun.
After that, you should have plenty of time to win.
Also, you now have access to some new cats. Don’t use them. They’re at low levels, and many of them have similar generic movepools.
Drops- Catnip, Juniper Berry Ultra, Antivenom
Hawkfrost (Lv. 55)
HP- 45000
Moves- Basic Attack (Slash), Claws of Destruction, Shadowy Rapids, Shadow Drain, Death Blow, Adept Slash, Tiger Kill
Recommended Level- 65
Recommended Items- Catnip, Eagle, Stardust (sometimes you will not have enough SP)
Strategy- In progress
Subquest Bosses
Patrolling Tribe Cat (Lv. 47)
HP- 13000
Moves- Basic Attack (Gash), Claw Shred, Mountain Strike, Maximal Heal
Recommended Level- You will have three forced members on your team- Brook, and the two loners. The last member of your party should be at a high level because your other cats will mostly not be doing anything. Having Squirrelflight or Crowfeather on your team is not recommended because they can’t hit very hard. The non-journey cats (Brackenfur, Spiderleg, etc.) usually have sparse movepools and low base stats. That leaves Leafpool, Stormfur, and Tawnypelt. Leafpool is weaker than either of them, as she is more of a healer, but may work if you have no one else. Tawnypelt is a decent choice, but I really prefer Stormfur because of River of Rage, which arguably could be the best move in the game. It attacks, and usually stuns/and or poison all enemies, and is 100% accurate, which is great because you can’t let your rogue cats get knocked out. Brambleclaw can be used if you put him in your party after getting permission from Firestar to leave, and he is a viable choice due to his Tiger moves, good HP and STR. But, if you want to spend a little extra SP to unlock the Clan recruitment rocks, you can also get some Clan leaders, who begin at nice high levels and have good moves.
Whichever cats you have chosen,
The lead should be at least level 70.
Brook should be 46-52, depending on your level and cats.
And the loners cannot gain EXP or equip anything, so you can’t do much with them.
Recommended Items- Catnip, Falcon (Catnips are for healing between battles, falcons if you don’t have enough SP to use Maximal Heal and need to heal. Also, you can hunt for them at the rock outside the Tribe if you’re low.)
Strategy- These are the patrol cats of Cats in Need. You will fight 8 groups of them, each group consisting of 3 cats.
Be sure to save before and after every battle so you can try again if one battle fails, or heal when needed. Usually this will be with your main cat and with Catnip because they are cheap and useful.
There are some “rest spots” on the way you can use. You can only use them once because Patrol Tribe Cats will respawn if you go in and out of an area. These include: the Tribe’s camp, the outcast’s cave.
The loners you travel with can NOT be knocked out, ever in a patrol battle. If they are, they will be automatically removed from your party and you have to try again. So, they should be always defending, which sometimes allows them to survive a hit, and the Brook can Maximal or Medium Heal them, depending on the situation. However, stronger moves can still easily knock them out, so stunning the enemies is recommended.
If you use River of Rage, it will usually stun. So, you don’t need to worry about that. But, if you don’t, you can try Brook’s Stunning Crush, learned at level 46.
If you really have trouble with these cats, you can train Brook up to 52, where she learns Mountain Blast and can assist you.
A final note- if you are attacked by regular Tribe cats, sometimes you cannot (annoyingly) run away from them, so be careful.
Drops- Eagle
Acrobatic Rogue (Lv. 54) and 4 Highly Skilled Cats (Lv. 51)
Acrobatic Rogue (Lv. 54)
HP- 30000
Moves- Claws of Destruction, Status Blast, Killing Bite
Highly Skilled Cat (Lv. 51)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Slash), Claws of Destruction, Status Blast, Killing Bite, Remedy
Recommended Level- 72
Recommended Items- Catnip, Eagle
Strategy- Stun, poison, rinse and repeat. By now you should know the moves that can group damage and poison/stun so it shouldn’t be much trouble. They are annoying without statuses because they can use Status Blast and Killing Bite.
After you have statused them, you can take them out easily with Claws of Destruction.
Be sure to heal between battles.
Drops- Deathberry (Acrobatic Rogues), Accuracy Stone (Highly Skilled Cats)
6 Highly Skilled Cats (Lv. 51)
They are annoying without statuses because they have Status Blast and Killing Bite.
After you have statused them, you can take them out easily with Claws of Destruction.
Be sure to heal between battles.
Drops- Accuracy Stone
2 Acrobatic Rogues (Lv. 54) and 5 Highly Skilled Cats (Lv. 51)
Acrobatic Rogues (Lv. 54)
HP- 30000
Moves- Claws of Destruction, Status Blast, Killing Bite
Highly Skilled Cats (Lv. 51)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Slash), Claws of Destruction, Status Blast, Killing Bite, Remedy
Recommended Level- 73
Recommended Items- Catnip, Eagle
Strategy- Stun, poison, rinse and repeat. By now you should know the moves that can group damage and poison/stun so it shouldn’t be much trouble. They are annoying without statuses because they have Status Blast and Killing Bite.
After you have statused them, you can take them out easily with Claws of Destruction.
Be sure to heal between battles.
Drops- Deathberry (Acrobatic Rogues), Accuracy Stone (Highly Skilled Cats)
Terrible Kittypet (Lv. 50)
HP- 65000
Moves- Basic Attack (Slash), Claws of Destruction, Shadowy Destruction, Sap Herbs (Steals an herb every turn), Status Blast, Killing Bite, Remedy
Recommended Level- 75
Recommended Items- Catnip, Eagle
Strategy-
When you meet Leafstar for the first time, she mentions something about the Kittypet being resistant to all but kindness. That should be your first clue that this is not going to be a normal battle.
This Kittypet is very special- any non-cat-specific moves will not hurt him. Instead, they will heal. These moves include Claws of Destruction, River of Rage, Tornado Shred, and any and all other Clan or regular cat moves. This makes cats with a generic moveset most of their lower levels like Spiderleg or Brackenfur practically useless in direct damage.
However, cats with “special” moves like Tiger Crush, Sand Blast, and Gray Blast will be more useful. They can use those moves as much as they want.
You may have noticed that the Terrible Kittypet has a lot of HP. That is not a typo. He really has that much.
So if this Kittypet has so much going for him, you would think that he is very hard to defeat. That is true, but there is a golden lining.
Venom.
This cat is very vulnerable to venom, taking a good 10000 HP every turn with it. Yes, he has Remedy, but no, he does not use it that often. As a side note, stunning is useless here, he is resistant.
After you get your venom on (whether it be Poison Chomp or side effect), all you have to do is survive and hope he doesn’t take too many of your herbs.
Finally, remember that generic, healing attacks that have side effects like River of Rage still retain their side effects.
Drops- Catnip
Dust (Lv. 63)
HP- 35000
Moves- Claws of Destruction, BloodClan Blast, BloodClan Life Steal, BloodClan Deception, Killing Bite
Recommended Level- 75
Recommended Items- Catnip
Strategy- Dust is actually one of the easier subquest bosses. He has less HP than a lot of them, and if you get him stunned and poisoned by Tiger Crush/Destruction you can finish him off quickly.
Drops- Golden Fish, Roguestone (indirectly)
Recruitment Bosses
Sometimes you must defeat a cat in battle to recruit it. These cats are listed here. Note all HP amounts are estimates.
Bone (Lv. 66)
HP- 25000
Moves- Basic Attack (Bite), Claw Shred, BloodClan Blast, BloodClan Deception, Mega Revival (useless)
Recommended Level- 77
Recommended Items- Catnip
Strategy- He has considerably lower HP than many other bosses, and shouldn't be too difficult to defeat. Just stick to how you fought Dust.
Drops- Star Light, 3000 EXP, 909 A
Scourge (Lv. 115)
HP- 100000
Moves- Basic Attack (Slash), Claws of Destruction, BloodClan Blast, Death Blow
Recommended Level- 78
Recommended Items- Catnip, Eagle, Star Light
Strategy- Scourge, unlike Bone, has a lot of HP.
Fortunately, you can poison and stun him without ill effect. Unfortunately, he resists both extremely well and you’ll probably only get one turn of either. However, if you manage to poison him by any means, he will suffer an about 10000 HP loss for the turn he gets poison before it is auto-healed. Therefore if you can get it by a move that both attacks and poisons, the battle will go a lot faster. If you use a move that attacks, poisons, and stuns, it will be a lot easier. So, pardon the idiom, pick your poison.
Drops- Dog Tooth Claws, 25484 EXP, 50000 A
This bestiary is a guide to all non-boss enemies.
