4.) Maybe about how generic apprentice battles go or something. -Gives us something to compare her actions with.
I was going with the apprentices testimony there with that one

(Yeah, basically that each apprentice got wounds when they fought two warriors, even with their mentor, so Ripplepaw should have had wounds if she had really fought in that battle.)
So...I am really mad at myself. I accidentally reloaded the page...and deleted the progress I had made towards this CYOA entry. I'm starting it again, but I'm sorry for the delay.

Maybe you should start typing in notepad or something, and then when you're done just copy and paste it into the reply box. That's what I always do when I'm typing something really long on the internet and it doesn't autosave.

(Yeah, I think I'll do just that. Thanks Vashey.)
You realize, putting all you've learned together, the most likely explanation is that Ripplepaw was scared and didn't participate in the battle. You have to find her! You have to tell her it's ok to be scared, that no one, and especially not you, would blame her. You start to rush out of the den when you stop short. You don't know where Ripplepaw is. You turn back to go ask Brambleberry, then realize she isn't here.
"Brambleberry!" You call, sadness creeping slowly into your voice.
"Brambleberry, please come back. I need you. I can't do this alone...Please." You sink to the floor, closing your eyes, defeated. Suddenly, you feel a tail on your shoulder. You look up into the pure blue eyes of your mentor.
"Thank you." You meow in relief. She just nods.
"You figured this out on your own. As for Ripplepaw, just wait. You'll be able to talk to her soon enough. Just go to bed." She meows firmly. You shake you head in surprise, but she was right before, so you go to bed. In the morning, just after dawn, you see the Warriors and apprentices forming a group in the center of the clearing, waiting to be put in patrols. You look around, and see Ripplepaw walk in towards the back of the group. You try to make your way through, but more warriors pack in behind her and you have to squeeze through. Minnowstar walks out and stands in the front, beggining to sort patrols. You speed up, pushing through with words of, 'I'm sorry' and, 'Excuse me' to each cat. Finally you reach her.
"Ah Ripplepaw!" Minnowstar calls. She walks over to him.
"I'd like to assign you a temporary mentor until Thorntail is better. How would yo feel about having Beechtail?" Ripplepaw shrugs.
"Sure. I don't really care." Beechtail pads up behind her.
"Since we had a battle two nights ago, let's try hunting today. Shall we?" he meows thoughtfully. Ripplepaw nods and walks off after him. She seems fine again. Maybe she just needed time to go by herself and think things over. Should you still try to talk to her? And if so, should you ask now or when she comes back in the evening?
What do you do?
1.) Talk to her now 2.) Talk to her this evening 3.) Don't talk to her

She seems to be fine now, and she does need to get back to training, so you decide not to talk to her. You walk back to the medicine cat den. Brambleberry stands in the doorway, her expression neutral.
"I see." She whispers. "Is this your choice? Is this the path you are choosing?" You begin to think. Does she approve?
"Is it the right choice?" Brambleberry shrugs.
"Whatever you chose is the right choice for you. Everything will work out if you give it enough time." She takes a deep breath and turns back to the herbs.
"Let's get to clearing some of these out." She meows calmly. You slowly nod, now completely unsure of your choice. Brambleberry has a way of doing that. That day, you clear out the old herbs and go out to collect some new ones. The next day, you do the same. It seems to be back to normal. 6 days later, you send Thorntail and Swallowfrost back to their duties. At that point, Brambleberry took you out for what she called, "a special day of training". You are confused, but follow her out into the forest. After a short walk, you come to the clearing where you almost had to fight Thorntail. You turn to her, discomfort showing in your eyes.
"Today," she begins, "you are going to learn to hunt. There are no more injured warriors, so we shouldn't need herbs for a while. In the next few days, we will practice hunting. After that, we will move on to fighting." she pauses, looking at you. "I understand your reservation about this, but even medicine cats must be able to hunt and fight. If not against especially mean cats, then definitely against foxes, badgers, dogs, or other creatures such as that." You're heart begins to beat faster.
What do you do?
1.) Follow her without protest 2.) Express your opinion but agree to the training 3.) Ask to delay the training 4.) Ask to forgo the training completely

Vashey said 1, DimLight said 2, so as to not make anyone upset about the outcome of ties, I'm implementing a new system DimLight suggested. I want each of you to make your case for why you chose your option, publically not in pm's. If you are convinced by the other person's argument, we will go with that option. If not, then I will continue with the coin flip to determine which option we take.

You sigh, knowing arguing would be useless, and follow Brambleberry.
"Fishing is just like gathering moss. That is, you use the same clawing motion, but you also must use a few other skills. You must have patience to wait beside the river for a fish without moving a muscle. You must have good reflexes, and catch the fish just as it swims by. I have seen you use all these skills before...besides reflexes. Anyway, try to catch one." She sits down beside you and waits. You cautiously pick up your paw and hold it, claws out, over the water. You wait, thinking about how you will swipe at the fish. Suddenly, you see a glimmer in the water passing you. You swipe as fast as you can, but only hit water. You turn to Brambleberry in shame.
"It's alright Stormpaw. I wouldn't expect you to get a fish on the first try. The motion was perfect, you just need to be faster." You nod, turning back to the water to try again. After a while, another fish comes by. You swipe earlier this time, and catch it!
"Great job Stormpaw! You're a natural at this." You look down at the trout you caught in happiness. A few days go by, hunting each day and getting better at it each day, until one morning, Brambleberry stops you.
"No hunting today. We're going battle training." You gulp in terror.
"Brambleberry, you know my feelings on...this matter. Could we...only work on defense moves?" Brambleberry dips her head.
"I'll warm you up to the concept, and remember, you can't hurt me. However, for today at least, of course we can just work on defense." You try all day, but you can't get any moves to stick in your head when you face Brambleberry. You think you know what you mean to do, but when she comes towards you you just freeze and your mind goes blank. You can't do this. With each failure, Brambleberry pauses, not showing any emotion, like always, but you know she must be disappointed.
What do you do?
1.) Ask to go back to medicine cat duties 2.) Ask to go back to hunting 3.) Keep trying to fight

(Well, it was unanimous. 3 it is)
You think for a moment, realizing that you probably will have to fight at some point in your life, so you’d better learn this now.
“Brambleberry, I’m not sure why, but I always think I know what I am supposed to do until you start coming for me.” She nods.
“That’s fear. Caring fear for my safety, but fear none the less. Try concentrating on this. Not only will you possibly need to use these skills one day, but you obviously have a very strong moral compass. You wouldn’t hurt any creature if you didn’t fully believe they deserved it.” You nod, continuing on with the training session and doing much better. After a few days more of this, you wake up one morning to Brambleberry looking down at you.
“Today, we’re not going to learn about hunting, fighting, or herbs. We are going to learn about the most important part of being a medicine cat; communicating with Starclan.” You shake your head.
“You must be joking. I talk to you every day, and if anyone else from Starclan wants to tell me something, they can just come and tell me.” She shakes her head.
“While that is true, I am here as your mentor. I don’t share with you prophecies, omens, or futures.” You slowly nod, realizing the only time she gave you anything of that nature was before she had become your mentor.
“You need to learn how to intemperate these signs, and while you can learn some of this from me, the best way to learn this is to lead by example…tonight, you must go to the half-moon gathering with the other medicine cats.”
“But Brambleberry!” you interject quickly, “I didn’t go last time and it was fine! I’m only a medicine cat apprentice and I haven’t even been presented to Starclan yet!” Brambleberry glares firmly.
“Then it’s time you did. Last time they assumed Leaffeather was sick, and were completely unaware of you. Now, they all know about you, from the gathering, and they will be expecting you. Besides that, you must be presented to Starclan by a full LIVING medicine cat. In Starclan’s eyes, you may not even be Riverclan’s medicine cat yet. You must go.” You slowly nod, knowing she is right in everything she has said. You just don’t know how the other medicine cats will react to you. You saw them for less than five minutes at the gathering before the leaders began the meeting, so you really don’t know much about them besides their names. You have to go tonight.
“So, how do I know where it is?”
“I’ll take you to the meeting place, but I can’t go down to the moonstone with you. Down there, any medicine cat may see me. You chose to keep your apprenticeship to me a secret, so I really shouldn’t be seen. You’ll have to ask one of the other medicine cats to swear you in as a medicine cat apprentice.”
What do you do?
1.) Go by yourself and let another medicine cat to swear you in 2.) Ask for her to go but pretend she isn’t your mentor 3.) Ask her to go and tell the medicine cats she is your mentor 4.) Ask her to go and tell the clan she is your mentor
