Recruited Cats not showing up in Party

Hi, getting back into the original (first series) game after not playing it for several years. I redownloaded to ensure I had the latest version. Worked great until I got to the point where you recruit other cats. When I am attempting to recruit another cat, the game will eventually register the recruiting attempt as successful, and the recruiting menu will say the cat is recruited, but the recruited cat will not show up in my party, on my equip pages, or even in battle. The game says I was successful in recruting Longtail, Frostfur, Goldenflower, and Speckletail, but none of them actually show up in battle or anywhere else.

Hmm, try going to the moonstone to actually put the recruited cat in your party, yo.
