Frostflower scented a vole and started following its scent. She spotted it, and got into her hunting crouch. She pounced, but her tail brushed against the ground and it was alerted. The vole quickly scampered off. "So close..." Frostflower growled. (So I can do this? Just making sure.)

Leopardfire decided she should go hinting for the time being. After walking for a while, she scented the air.

Frostflower sniffed the air, this time to find the scent of a mouse. She followed the scent, and quickly found the mouse. She got into her hunters crouch and got ready to pounce. This time, she lifted up her tail a bit so it wouldn't hit the ground. She pounced, and quickly bit the mouse. The mouse went limp in her jaws. She buried the mouse and went to go find more prey.

Leopardfire used her hearing for this one, she heard a sound coming from a nearby tree and quietly made her way over there. She sniffed the air and saw that is was very close, she used her paws and sprang up. The squirrel went limp. Leopardfire decided to bury it for later, marking the spot.

After a quick grooming, Nightpaw decided to go hunting. Once she was a little bit out of camp, she began to walk quieter, focusing on the noises of the dappled forest around her. A songbird twittered loudly, and Nightpaw twitched her ears in frustration. The bird was nearly right above her, but the branch it was singing on was long and thin- no doubt it would hear or feel her footsteps on the branch. She sniffed around for other prey among the roots of the trees.

Frostflower was having trouble finding any more prey, but finally came across a rabbit. She got into her hunters crouch and slowly crawled towards it. She pounced, and gave it a quick bite to the neck. She was satisfied with her hunting, so she picked up the rabbit, and dug up the mouse. She brought the two pieces of prey back to camp, and put them down in the fresh-kill pile. She wasn't feeling hungry, so she decided to rest. She went into her den and settled down. She quickly fell asleep.

Nightpaw noticed the distinctive smell of rodents: a mouse was skittering along the dead leaves searching for nuts. Nightpaw slunk forward, trying to remain silent, before deciding she couldn't get any closer without alerting her prey. Nightpaw dashed forward, sending leaves flying behind her, and hooked the mouse up a claw and stabbing it with another.

Frostflower woke up from her nap, her stomach grumbling. She got up and got the mouse she caught yesterday. She lay down by the fresh-kill pile and ate the mouse.

(Yep, it's fine.)
Honeythorn was starving, and the fresh-kill pile was looking low, so she decided to go hunt. She walked out of camp and began sniffing for prey.

Frostflower had no idea what to do. She just went hunting... She couldn't do battle practice, since she was in an empty clan. So, she just went into the forest to go exploring.

With one catch, all the other prey seemed to vanish. Even the pesky bird was silent. Nightpaw sighed. Maybe she could practice climbing instead. She glanced at the branches around her, but they were thin and tall, beyond her climbing skill.

Honeythorn scented a sparrow. She swung her head around and saw it pecking at the roots of a tree. She began to stalk toward it, but she stepped on a dry leaf, which crackled beneath her paws. The sparrow fluttered upward. Mousedung! she thought. You aren't getting away so easily! She crept around to an adjoining tree, and began to climb it slowly and stealthily. When she reached a branch about level with the sparrow, she began to creep along it. Finally, she judged herself close enough to leap across to where the sparrow was. She tensed and sprang, landing smack on the sparrow. It tried to fly away, but Honeythorn's teeth were already imbedded in its neck, killing it instantly. Suddenly, Honeythorn felt herself slipping as the branch swayed under her sudden weight. The bird fell to the ground, but Honeythorn managed to fasten her claws in a lower, stronger branch. She hung there for a few seconds, recovering, and then dropped to the ground and retrieved the sparrow. She buried it by the tree, then wandered off in search of more prey.

Leopardfire started to think if she would get her first mission today, she thought she should work hard either way. So, then went hunting once more.
