I only have 2 friends in my school and they both r in the same "rank" while Im below them because I think too much. (It takes me longer to prosses things in my head) Sometimes there math teacher changes there lunch scedual so I have to sit alone, I mean when there both in lunch with me its a comidy/reality show! when im alone, its so quiet. I listen to music alot, its my love. (I feel sorry for u) Last year I planed to make a warriors club but I procrastinated, now I cant even do it at all, TO MUCH SCHOOL STUFFF!!!!!! I could ent play in the schools bascetball, I quit other after school classes, (thank goodness rollerscating is on Sat.) My father really wants me to go in ballet which is not my passion, I also quit gymnastics years ago, What elssss....... A LOT of people in my school think Im not as smart as them or r jelous (I got lot tallent, no brag) I dont have time to draw, so on..... I am so sick of this stuff that I feel like quiting! Most of the time I feel like this is just a waste of my life. So now i sit hear writting this post wen I should be doing my weekend homework. You just decribed my problems and feelings toward school exactly. Right now I should be working on two huge projects (for the same class) and some other smaller assignments. I also have a piano recital and an orchestra concert coming up that I'm not prepared for, and about 50 books on my "to read" list. Music and reading are my passions, but I haven't gotten to do much of it lately. AND THE HOMEWORK JUST KEEPS COMING!!!!!!

I'm one of those people who think -A is a bad grade. How's it like being home schooled? (do you just do a few pages a work for each subject or....?) You get the really die-hard homeschooling parents who will make their own planner, choose the books, everything. But a lot of people follow certain organizations: like me and my sister, we follow the MODG (Mother of Divine Grace) Catholic homeschool program. They basically lay out all the work you have to do, what books to use, etc. I have a planner, called a syllabus, that tells me exactly what work/how much/what page every day. It's in a spiral. Like tomorrow, I'll flip to Monday, week 28 (because it'll be the 28th week of school this school year). There, they'll have a section for every subject. Under every section, then tell me what to do. For instance, for grammar it might say, "Read pages 212-213. Then do pages 214 and 215." Or science, "Read Unit 16, Chapter 5, on the corrosion of metal. Answer the questions in blue found at the bottom of every paragraph. Do the 'Answer These' and 'Now Try These' questions." Just think of it like a normal school, except there's only one classroom, no classmates, and there's not really a teacher because the books/syllabus explains it. If I DO need help, or don't understand something, I just ask my mom. She's kind of like the teacher- she grades my work, goes over stuff with me, etc. IF I don't goof off or sleep in, and focus, I could get my school done by as early as 1:00. The reason class is so much shorter is because the teacher doesn't have to explain everything before you do the assignment. You work at your own pace, you don't have to wait for others to understand or for the teacher to re-explain a concept several times. Class schedules aren't set in stone (like you don't have to start math at a specific time or finish it at a certain time). You're not done until you finish your assignment, then you move onto the next subject. Also, there's no homework (or afterwork) because you do it in class. A lot of times, since the teacher is explaining/going over stuff with you, it takes up about half of class. Then you end up doing half the work you should be doing in school at home (and homework is born!). But since we do the work in school, there's no leftover work. Since I'm lazy, sleep in until 10:00, and procrastinate a LOT, lately I don't get done until 6:00. By my own fault. I'm kind of frustrated with myself for it and trying to break the habit. The best parts are that there's no uniforms, you can eat whenever you want, you move at your own pace, and there's no classmates to distract you. Also, since you're parent is the teacher, it's a lot easier to ask for help and it's more comfortable around them. You COULD sleep in, but it depends on your parent. Like when we first started, I had to wear a uniform and get to work by 8:00. But it soon started to slack, now we don't wear uniforms, and I can sleep until 9:00. But it really depends on your parent and how strict they will be. The bad side of homeschool is that you get anti-social fast. Well, not anti-social, but your social skills deteriorate. I use to easily be able to talk to kids my age, but now I'm so nervous, I can't even speak. Too uncomfortable. A lot of times, your "friends" from your old school just totally forget about you and never bother to see you again. Which is crushing. You also can't really participate in sports. Maybe, if there's like a YMCA team or something nearby, but most public teams stop after 7th grade. And you're not allowed to play on school teams.

The one reason i would prefer to be homeschooled is because i like working one-on-one as opposed to stuck in a classroom with tons of students. I find it improves my performance greatly. (Not to mention i enjoy being alone sometimes (though i am fine with others, and do enjoy socializing). As for participating in sports i find there are tons of city run sport leagues (atleast where i live), in fact i was in a multitude of sport leagues outside of school until i got a concussion playing hockey.

Im better at working on 1 on 1 as well, and Dawnsky, our asighnments must be verry similar, I had a INPORTANT BAND CONSERT that WAS coming up and I had absolutly no time at all to practise! I feel like I will never acheve my dreams with such tough work in school and yes I know next year is always harder. AND I am wat u call a 5 0 4 student which tecnicaly means it takes me time to proses things in my head which sucks cause my awesome teachers go too fast for me. And the good side of being in public school is since if I wer homeschooled i would not get anything done (i goof of way to much at home and i am an angle to my teachers in school, except for the late assignments and late homework part. I hardly practice my flute!

The one bad thing about working at home is all the distractions. TV, computer, books, food, etc. It can be really tempting to just stop and check the forums real quick- before you know it, you've been on it for half an hour and you should have finished your grammar a long time ago. It takes a lot of self-control and strong will, something I don't have, so it gets difficult.

^ I agree with that this place is really addicting, sometimes I'll wake up at 12 at night and feel the need to look at the forums on my phone.
Most of the time I like to work alone, If I'm writing a paper I don't really want any partners (Friends are awesome but I finish a lot later then I need to) with posters like science projects I enjoy being with someone.I wish i could be in sports, My parents think it's "Dangerous" and my school doesn't really offer any sports for girls.Sucks.I would join the volleyball team if I could.

The bad thing about homeschool, is you don't do projects. No fun paper-mache, or fun solar systems or such.

I don't remember the last time I had a school project that I considered fun. In fact I'm seriously considering homeschooling. I am quite anti-social and I don't have any friends at school so I wouldn't lose anything there. I am also a very fast worker and I feel like Shade does about how class time is wasted going over stuff. Finally, with the way my school is set up, it's going to be a serious problem to get me to my advanced math class next year. If I have as much homework next year as I do this year, I'm going to ask my mom to homeschool me.

Also, if there's one thing I've noticed, is that homeschool is just generally a much better education. 90% of homeschoolers are smarter than your average public/private school kid. Just just work faster and learn a lot more stuff. dawn: Yeah. That always annoyed me at school, at the fact I had to wait twenty minutes for the teacher to explain a concept I already understood. That, and the fact I always finished about ten minutes before everyone else, and had to sit around doing nothing. But I swear, the information you learn is just much more concentrated in home school. I learned more in my first year of HS then I did in my three years of private school. One of the big perks in vacation time. Most homeschool programs give you only about 32 weeks of school (8 months). Which means you get about four-months for summer vacation compared to the three months other kids get. On the downside of that, you don't get small days like Martin Luther King Day or Labor day off. Though every Friday I only have four assignments, so basically a half day.

Snow:Grats! I know who's getting a full scholarship Thanks. My parent say that if I don't get any sort of scolarship, college is out of the question. XD shadow: About the temptation.....let's just say I got that at school too XD Our school went to online learning for most of the time and proboards aren't blocked so I go on during breaks Another thing I don't really like about school(where there's a bunch of students) is when the teacher goes over and over and over on the same topic because the majority doesn't get it DX I usually get it the first time, if not, the second time around. I'm going to a small private school and will continue going to the school during my high school years. Also....I'm usually an A/A+ student, so getting an A- or lower as a final grade is a really big blow on me.... I suffered so much emotionally when I got a B, but it was in PE so I wasn't upset for a long time. Right now....my lowest grade is a 92% I'm not saying it to make you guys feel bad, but my fingers just started typing it....

Lucky, I have to glitch up and bypass the code to get on any of my sites (the most lockedish down site would of been facebook and I got past the lock ) I sort of want to be homeschooled, My school freaking sucks (well I was forced to go to it because I didn't sign these major papers) people here throw bananas at school windows to break them (and It works) got some crazy stories When you hear there's a fight you probably would be confused it's at your school for anyone, Here it happens every week.

Never had a fight or such at my old school. Probably because it was a small private Catholic one. There were two classes per grade and about 20 in each, kindergarten through 8th, so that's about... 320 kids? Snowfeather: I'm exactly the same way. You should see me when I take my spelling tests. In them, first my mom gives me (orally) all the words to write down and spell correctly. Then in another column she gives me the definition and I have to choose the correct word. I usually get 100% on them, so whenever I get even one wrong I kinda explode and get really mad at myself. I don't even really study for tests, to be honest. I mean, not the big end-of-the-year tests, I mean like the weekly ones. I've NEVER had to study for a math test. I mean, they're only twenty questions. Math's not my worst subject, and my mom says it's my best, but I disagree. Sometimes I get up to four wrong on them. The only tests I ever study for, now that I think about it, is like my big religion and science tests. Those are really my only two finals, and I've already completed them. Science I got 104 (I was able to answer all the bonus questions) and Religion I have yet to be graded as I only just did it yesterday, but I feel confident I did well.

I hate my high school. The teachers have a hard time getting any respect from other students who will never shut up and let others learn what they need. I can barely hear the directions in my band class this year as the other people around me never stop talking, blasting their saxophone's highest notes as loud as they can, never stop swearing every sentence, and demand that I pick up their sheet music every time the drop it, if I don't they call me fag (lol I'm not a cigarette butt ya dummies ) I honestly can't wait to get done with high school and start collage where I won't have to deal with this crap.

Fights happen in the hall ways of our school all the time Hrm.....is my school have like the least problems? ? I mean...there is rarely a fight breaking out. When there is, most people brush it off unless the people who fought were in your class or it's your friend that was in it. Although bullying(with words, not physical) is a huge problem at my school. My entire class went through a series of meetings and all about bullying and why we shouldn't do it and all last year.
