Chapter 4
Robinstar's POVRobinstar blinked. "What dream was this? This was a dream that no one has prepared him for. Danger? When? Why? How?" he thought. "StarClan had not hoped for such danger to arrive so quickly after the Clans were rebuilt, but now it was too late. They said that danger had already arrived, but they do not know when it will start." He yawned, stretching his hind legs. He stepped out of his den and before him was the clearing. Most cats have not have woken yet, although some had just came from the morning patrol. He leaped down from his den into the clearing. He met his deputy carrying prey. "Good morning isn't Oakbreath?" he started.
"Nice day," the deputy said. "The prey is running well and our borders have been clean from the enemies' scent. We won't be having trouble any time soon," Oakbreath told him.
"You don't know what trouble we will have, it's already here," Robinstar thought. "Yes, and if we do have trouble, our warriors will always be there to help," he added because his deputy had stared at him as if he knew something.
"Robinstar! Robinstar!" the medicine cat yowled, running from her den to where he was.
"Yes?" Robinstar asked, turning. "What is it?"
"Something important, it must not be discussed here," Brightflower insisted and Robinstar immediately knew what was to be discussed. The dream he had, or rather now, they both had. Robinstar flicked his tail towards his den, although he didn't want want to start off the day like this, he can't help it, he is the leader and he must address any problems that come up.
Once the two cats were in the privacy the den had, Brightflower said. "I had a dream. It was a dream that I believe that StarClan has showed me. I met Yellowfang, another StarClan member who used to be a medicine cat. She told me," the medicine cat started.
"I believe she told you that there will be danger in the Clans, including ours. I believe that she also told you the prophecy? 'Chaos will follow with the night cat, only the daughter of the Iced Moss will be able to stop before all is lost.' Do not fret, I did not read your mind but Firestar had told me," Robinstar continued, and of course explained to his medicine cat to erase the shock from her face.
"I understand," Brightflower said. "This is the first time we had encountered what StarClan had called a prophecy. The easiest thing is that there will be danger, by this night cat, whatever that means. It also says that there will be some savior, a she-cat, but I don't understand what the Iced Moss is. Is it a place or is it some important cat? And what would the danger be?" fretted the medicine cat.
"Now hold on," Robinstar said, chuckling. Brightflower was always like this, she was smart and can figure things out for sure but she fretted often. She would never be a good warrior, fretting about any battles or blood that might come. "Don't go about fretting so much about what is to come just yet. We must first find out what this night cat will bring us. Then worry when will the daughter of the Iced Moss will come."
"You're right," Brightflower said, "I always fret too much. Do you think that StarClan has chosen correctly in making me the first medicine cat of LightningClan?"
"StarClan is wise, you are smart and well-trained. I could not have a better cat to be by my side when I first had to become leader. I was also worried that I wouldn't make a good leader but they had confidence in me," Robinstar said, trying to cheer up his medicine cat.
"Thank you Robinstar," Brightflower murmered, "It is so hard sometimes, especially with this dream. I am worried what is to come."
"Do not worry just yet, time will play out what is to come," Robinstar said. "Now let us go get a bite of prey before starting off our day."
Chapter 5
Tigerkit's POV"Hurry up Tigerkit!" Lynxkit yelled from the other side of camp. "The faster we get there, the faster the story starts!"
Tigerkit glared at him. Lynxkit and his siblings were three moons older than her. She and her siblings were only two moons old.
"Take your time Tigerkit," Spottedkit said. "After all, they'll have to wait for us. It wasn't our fault they were running."
Tigerkit grinned, Spottedkit was her best friend. No matter how much she didn't like Spottedkit's brothers, being friends with her was the best!
Mousekit and Volekit were behind them, Shimmertail, their mom, had been trying to get them to be clean. She was always worrying over her three kits, sometimes it gets embarrassing and irritating, but she loved her mom for always trying to make sure they're safe. Meanwhile, Lynxkit and Blazekit were pouncing and trying to wrestle the other to the ground. Spottedkit and Tigerkit rolled their eyes, giggled at the fact they rolled their eyes together, and ran as fast as they could to catch up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No one's POV"Well now kits," Pebblesplash rumbled, "you here to hear the story of Tigerstar?"
A chorus of "yes!" and "please!" bounced around the elders room.
"Since when did you see kits act like this for a story?" Spottedtail purred.
"I haven't seen this since Finchdawn and Echostorm were kits. Remember all the kits back then?" Pebblesplash said, going off topic.
"Well there's six kits in front of you, and getting impatient by the looks on their faces so why don't we start off the story," Spottedtail said. She closed her eyes and took a breath, remembering the stories that have passed down since the beginning of the Clans. She reached for the story about Tigerstar and began......"Long ago, before even LightningClan and the other three Clans were started, there was 4 clans before us. They are our ancestors as we are their descendents. Do you remember what the Clans were called?"
"Um......" Spottedkit thought.
"I know!!!! RiverClan was SplashClan's ancestral Clan!" Lynxkit said.
Blazekit, not wanting to be beaten by his brother, said, "ShadowClan is NightClan's ancestral Clan!"
"And WindClan is MoorClan's ancestral Clan," Mousekit and Volekit said.
"And our Clan came from ThunderClan!" Tigerkit meowed.
"That's right kits," Pebblesplash said. "Tigerstar, started as a warrior in ThunderClan. His father, Pinestar, also a leader of ThunderClan, had left the Clan for the kittypet life."
Lynxkit gasped. "Why would he do that?
I would never leave the Clan for anything!" His brother, Blazekit nodded.
"Lynxkit, remember, he had his reasons for leaving," Pebblesplash told the kit.
"Still, leaving the Clan life, his entire life behind to be a
kittypet!" Blazekit meowed, spitting out the word 'kittypet'.
"Now, now. Pinestar had left, he thought that Sunstar will be a good leader. He did not worry about who will take over ThunderClan and knew it was in safe paws. He left because he was on his last life. He was already old and gray, he needed a rest from Clan life. He didn't want the battles and his view changed. Because his view changed, the life he was in didn't seem fit to him," Spottedtail pointed out.
"Why couldn't he become an elder? He wouldn't have to fight and will be taken care of by the Clan," Mousekit asked.
"Who knows," Pebblesplash shrugged. "He lived so long ago, you should ask him when you get to StarClan."
"Anyways, Tigerstar's mother was Leopardfoot, a good warrior. He had two siblings but they died from sickness," Spottedtail continued. "When he was just a kit, Pinestar had left him and his family. He promised that he will become ThunderClan's future leader and that he will do a better job than his father."
"He became an apprentice, his mentor was Thistleclaw. Thistleclaw was a blood-thirtsy, powerful warrior. Mixing in Tigerclaw's ambititions, Tigerclaw became a powerful, strong, well-respected, young warrior," Pebblesplash said.
Spottedtail added, "before he had become a warrior, he attacked Scourge when he was a kit. He didn't know that Scourge will pay back revenge for the act and thought that he was only following his mentor and the warrior code." Spottedtail coughed deeply and flicked her tail to show Pebblesplash that she was okay, "no, I refuse to tell Brightflower. I am not coming down with anything, I just need some fresh air after this." Her denmate closed his mouth and stopped arguing. "Tigerclaw wasn't just happy with being a warrior, he wanted to become leader and fast. He hoped that Thistleclaw would become leader and appoint him deputy and eventually become the leader but it didn't happen that way. Bluestar, Bluefur back then, was also another choice to become the next deputy. Bluefur had kits but because of her kits, she would be unable to become the next deputy, so she gave them away..."
Tigerkit gasped.
Why would she have done that? Why would she give her kits away? What would happen if Shimmertail gave her and her sisters away? As much as her mother got annoying, she loved her mother dearly.Pebblesplash picked up where Spottedtail had left off, "She had given them to her mate, Oakheart. Yes, Oakheart was a RiverClan cat, they had met in a gathering as apprentices. Eventually they had kits, three kits, but one died in the snow because it was too cold for her to handle. Their names were Mistykit, Stonekit, and Mosskit."
"Was it Mosskit who died?" Mousekit asked.
"Yes," Pebblesplash responded. "Bluestar was devestated, losing her kits, but she knew that Thistleclaw becoming deputy and then eventally the leader, was a choice that could not happen. If he had become leader, she was sure that fights would happen everyday and the Clan will fall apart. She knew that this was the price that she had to pay to save the future of the Clans."
Spottedtail finally returned back to the story. "Bluestar eventually became deputy and Thistleclaw hated her even more. He had already blamed her for Snowfur's, her sister and Thistleclaw's mate, death."
"What happened to her?" Lynxkit asked.
"She was run over by a monster," Spottedtail sighed. She held her tail to silence the gasps from the kits. "She was chasing ShadowClan cats out of her territory and didn't realize until it was too late."
Tigerkit blinked in horror.
Bluestar must've been horrified. She couldn't do anything until it was too late."Back to the story," Pebblesplash said while the kits murmered about what had happened to Snowfur. "Moons later, Rusty, now called Firestar, joined the Clan. Tigerstar was already respected, like I said, and hated Firestar from the beginning. Summing up why he hated him, Firestar had always gone against Tigerstar. Firestar brought all his lies and trickeries into the light. Tigerstar eventually lead a group of rouges into camp to attack. Tigerstar tried to attack Bluestar, and Firestar, Fireheart back then, said her. Tigerstar was exiled and he was accepted into ShadowClan, who was, at the time, at a terrible state. Their leader, Brokenstar was driven out because of how terrible of a leader he was, and Nightstar, their most recent leader had died of the sickness. Their deputy at the time had died right after Nightstar, leaving their Clan with no leader."
"Tigerstar's reputation in ShadowClan grew, and he was then given the task to become ShadowClan's leader. He was still given the nine lives of a leader, even if he was evil and tried to kill another cat in ThunderClan," Spottedtail added.
"Then why was he leader?" Blazekit asked, confused.
"Only StarClan knows why," Spottedtail answered. "Firestar eventually became leader once Bluestar had died. Tigerstar was planning something, something that would've wiped out the Clans in the forest had not Firestar helped save the Clans."
"Tigerstar wanted to rule all the Clans. Now that he was the leader of ShadowClan, he felt that he should have more power. He went into the Twoleg place where he had heard about this BloodClan. Now BloodClan wasn't a Clan like the four Clans in the forest. They didn't believe in StarClan, but they had a leader and a second in command, just like a deputy." Pebblesplash explained. "Tigerstar eventually got their leader, Scourge, to help take over the forest."
Spottedtail decided that they should time-skip a bit forward into the story. "After a couple days, everyone knew about BloodClan and the attack that will happen. Firestar spent most of his time figuring out how to fix everything, and to end Tigerstar's madness."
"The battle was like none other. Firestar rallied up the Clans against BloodClan and Tigerstar's followers. Tigerstar was killed by Scourge, for ordering the cats to attack when Scourge was the leader. He lost all nine of his lives with just one strike. One blow and he was a goner. Firestar knew that Scourge was powerful, but he didn't know he was that powerful. He also knew that Scourge had a weakness. A weakness that would kill Scourge." Pebblesplash said.
"Was it because he didn't believe in StarClan?" Tigerkit asked.
"Yes," Pebblesplash said, his purr like a deep rumbling. "Scourge had only one life while Firestar had nine full lives."
"Firestar won the battle with Scourge. Scourge had lost his life but Firestar had only lost one," Spottedtail concluded.
"That's really cool," Lynxkit said. Once he saw the other's expression he said, "I mean the story, not Firestar losing a life."
"I know you didn't mean it like that," Tigerkit said a bit shyly and her siblings nodded in agreement.
"Hey Tigerkit! Are you named after Tigerstar?" Blazekit sneered. "Are you going to follow his pawsteps and become evil like him. Or even worse, are you related to him?"
Tigerkit gaped,
"How dare he thinks I'm related to Tigerstar! Let alone think that I will turn out like him!" But none of the words came out, her mouth open and speechless.
"Hey that's not nice!" Spottedkit said quickly with the voices of Tigerkit's younger siblings hissing at Blazekit.
"Yeah," Lynxkit said, roughly pushing his brother. "Tigerkit won't turn out like him, there were so many things that made Tigerstar, Tigerstar. The same thing won't happen to Tigerkit, I promise," he meowed.
"Since when were you protecting Tigerkit?" Blazekit asked. He wasn't the only one surprised, Tigerkit was also a bit shocked.
"We're clanmates, we're supposed to protect each other," Lynxkit said back hotly.
"Now now you two." Pebblesplash said and then to the rest of the kits, "We've told you the story we promised. You should run along and play instead of being cooped up here."
With that, the six kits ran off towards the clearing. As usual, Lynxkit and Blazekit were pouncing on each other, getting in the warriors' way. Spottedkit suddenly felt tired, "guys, I'll be in the nursery for a nap."
"'Kay!" her siblings said. As usual the toms were ignoring the she-cats.
"Don't let Blazekit let you down," Spottedkit said.
"Don't worry I won't," Tigerkit meowed.
When she got to her nest, she laid down and put her small head on top of her paws.
"Why would he say that about me?" she wondered. Nothing had happened between the two of them, Blazekit and her. She had noticed that Blazekit and Lynxkit fought more frequently lately. She also noticed the sneers and glares she had been getting from Blazekit. His brother, Lynxkit was the one who was protecting her.
"Did he....?" she blushed at the thought.
"No, no.....it can't be that reason" Tigerkit thought, being the more reasonable cat she usually was.
Tigerkit decided to let the thoughts leave her mind. She closed her eyes and felt sleep wash over her...
Double update.
I'm writing a oneshot currently. Almost done. It has nothing to do with the Warriors series though. I might upload it on here if anyone's interested.
