Hello!
Welcome to my Survival Game. Now, I want to say right now, this is a very active Roleplay game. You need to try to get on at least once a day. Only appearing every three days won't cut it here, and not because I'm mean, but do you really think that mouse will sit there forever?
This was the first-ever Survival Game on these forums, and remains to be one of the most active roleplay games on this website. The object of the game is to survive. But yet, it's not so easy. The players in this game act as loners and rogues (there are groups [clan-like] you can join) and do anything they need to in order to last out the game. Yes, your cat can die, and there are three ways they can die. (1) Starvation or sickness (2) Killed in battle or murdered (3) Less-possible situations such as snake venom, cold, infection, ect. Now, I will say this many times: This is a SURVIVAL game. If needed, you may have to kill your best friend in order to survive. Not that they'll be many of those situations, hope I didn't just scare you off.
In this game, you have to hunt for your food; fight your enemies; patrol your territory; defend your group or mate; gather herbs; find a den; and have the willingness to make it through harsh leaf-bares. Also, no powers what-so-ever in this game. Because it just makes the game easier. This game isn't complicated, but their is a lot to remember. But if you forget, it's always here to look up! So no "I forgot!" excuses, okay?
It's a fun game that I bet 50 prey you'll like it. Join, hunt, fight -survive!
*One thing I want to say is please, please, PLEASE don't make characters that are extremely pretty or have especially uncommon/rare looks. Ex;; Pure white cat with green eyes is extremely hard to find. Plus, true wild cats are dark forest colors. If they have bright colors in their coats (like tortoishell, bright ginger, white, ect.) then they have kittypet blood. So please don't make characters like "Tortoishell and white she-cat with bright forest green eyes" when green eyes/bright, depp blue eyes are veru uncommon
STARTING OUT
There are three things to always keep in mind when you play. Your hunger/thirst bar, your energy bar, and your health. These are called the three keys to surviving.
A full "bar" (such as a hunger bar) looks like this:
_50/50________________
|_____________________|
An empty "bar" looks like this:
__0/50________________
|================|
Always avoid letting your bars run empty.
Energy points, or EP, fill up the "Energy Bar." This bar tells you how much energy you have.
Hunger points, or HGP, fill up the "Hunger Bar." This bar tells you how full you are.
Thirst points, or TP, fill up the "Thirst Bar." This bar tells you how parched you are.
Health points, or HP, fill up the "Health Bar." This bar tells you how healthy you are.
If any of these bars (except Energy) run empty, you die. So don't let that happen!
You start out at lvl (level) 1. As you progress in the game, you get to higher levels. As you gain higher levels, your max amount on your bars will enlarge so you have more tolerance for HGP, TP, EP, and HP. To gain one level higher, you need Experience points (or EXP). Experience points can be collected by completing opportunities, hunting, fighting, or just plain patrolling. Once you gain a certain amount of EXP, you gain one more level. As you gain higher levels, skills and Fighting Moves are gained.
To start out, first pick one of the starter locations. You will see some locations, such as The Oak Forest, that require skills in order to go to them. Since you start out with 0 skills, you can't go there yet, but later in the game you can progress to the better territories.
Locations are unlocked when anyone has completed a special opportunity.
Once you have picked your territory, fill out this form:
RPC Name:
Appearance:
Starting Location:
FIGHTING
Fighting is very simple to learn and not hard to do. First, there are three ways to engage in a battle: (1) The narrator [me] forces you into a fight. Such as, the narrator says "it turns out the shrew you were hunting was also being hunted by Examplecat! They begin to fight over it!" Although, sometimes you may have a choice to surrender the prey. This is called Random Fighting (2) You can pick a fight with any player or rogue, or enemies attack you. This is called Game Mode Fighting (3) Someone steals things from your den and you catch them. This is called Thief Fighting.
The higher the level you are, the better fighting moves you have. They will do more damage the higher the level you are. You can have up to five different moves at once, and you can learn over 50+ moves in the entire game until level 100. Choose which moves you keep wisely. When you can learn a new move, you choose which old move for it to replace.
However, the better the move, the more EP (Energy Points) it takes. This works just like SP in the video game. You can't just fight forever until one faints! You may run out of energy, or get tired. The higher the level you are, the more EP you have, and the better the moves you can use!
Battle menus look like this:
The fox attacked Player1!
Player1 took ## damage.
Player1's turn!
[ Fight ]     [ Flee ]
-[ Moves ]
- [ Defend ]
- [ Item ]
- [ Call for Help ]
Every time you are hit by the opponent's attack, it takes away HP, or Health Points. Some moves might also even take away EP! The damage done depends on the opponent's level and the move used.
If you look at the example battle above, you may notice the "Call for Help" option, or button as we call them. When you use this, it invites the closest player(s) to come help you out in this battle. But be careful. This uses an entire turn, uses EP, and the help may take a while to arrive, depending on how far away they are. Beware! If friends can hear you, enemies can too. If you are fighting a fox and you call, it's mate might hear you too and join the fight! Also, the players called to might not help you but might help the enemy. It's always a good idea to check the map to see if anyone's close by before using this button, and check to see if they're friendly to you!
When a button (option) is grey, that means it cannot be used at that moment/turn. The Call for Help button is only available if you have less than 50 HP left!
If you engage in a fight and you do not respond for 12 to 24 hours, your turn will be skipped. *However, once you drop below 50 HP, the game will freeze for you! *
*This great idea was suggested by Moon (Willowleaf)!
SKILLS
Skills are relatively easy to understand. Skills are basic tricks you know: climbing, swimming, social skills, ect. There are many different skills to learn. Each skill helps you do better in the game. Such as, you cannot hunt squirrels unless you have climbing skills. Having skills opens up many new doors in the game for you.
As already said, some locations require skills to be there. Ex: You can't live at the seashore without knowing how to swim! So you need swimming skills to live there. You may be wondering, "I'm fine in my starter location. What's so much better about other locations?" The more skills required, the better the territory is. The easier it will be to find dens, prey, and the less enemies you have to fight.
"How do I get skills? I have 0 skills when I start." There are two ways to gain skills. (1) You gain them through opportunities. If you complete an opportunity, you might be rewarded with skills! (2) Every five levels, you earn random 1 skill. (3) You can also earn skills using Skill Stones. (See Items)
Here is a list of every skill you can gain: (Abbreviations in parentheses)
Climbing (CLMB)
Swimming (SWM)
Agility (AGL)
Social (SCL)
Stalking* (STLK)
Jumping (JMP)
Hidden** (HDN)
*You can still hunt without this skill, but you have a better chance of catching prey with it.
**When a group reaches 8 members, they can make a new skill, that can only be learned by their group members. If a member leaves that group, they retain that skill but can't learn anymore.
HUNTING
Hunting is really easy! "How do I find prey?" The narrator (AKA me!) will randomly say when there is prey. EX: If you are hunting, I will randomly say that you spotted some prey. You then have the choice to hunt it, or ignore it. Though only a fool ignores prey.
Since this is a REAL survival game, you CAN die of hunger. Just look at your HGP to see how hungry you are.
And since this is realistic, you CAN miss the prey. EX: You step on a twig, the mouse hears you. The game follows real life seasons. In leaf-bare, prey is scare. In greenleaf, it's plentiful. Some prey require skills to catch them, like you need CLMB skills in order to catch squirrels. STLK (Stalking) skill is NOT required to hunt. However, it raises your chances of catching the prey.
Here is what a hunting menu looks like:
Examplecat4 spotted a mouse. What will they do?
[ Hunt ]     [ Ignore ]
This chart shows what skills are required to catch what prey:
(Prey = Skills Required = HGP Gained from eating)
Mice = 0 = 2
Voles = 0 =3
Shrews = 0=2
Squirrels = 2 CLMB = 4
Song Birds = 1 JMP =2
Ground Birds = 2 AGL =3
Frogs = 2 JMP =2
Tree Rats = 3 CLMB =3
Fish = 3 SWM =3
Rabbits = 5 AGL = 6
Hares = 7 AGL = 8
Predatory Birds = 5 JMP, 2 SCL = 12
Deer = 9 SC = 20
*Check your location to see what prey are available to you!
GATHERING TOGETHER A GROUP
Not exactly a clan. A group. There are no clear elders, queens, apprentices, or warriors. The leader is, however, clear. Whomever started the group is the leader. If the leader dies, the next one is by popular vote of that group. Belonging to a group is good because if you fall ill, are injured, or are exhausted, other can hunt or heal (for) you.However, being a loner or rogue also has advantages. You don't have nearly a high of risk of getting sick.
KEY RANKS:
Leader = Always founder or successor. They can control a group as they please. They are leaders until they die.
Half-Growns = Like apprentices, they are younger and in-experienced. However, unlike apprentices, they are taught by everyone, not just one cat.
No-hunts = Elders or Queens. However, cats never have gotten this far.
The better the groups are, the better they do. For some of the better groups, you must require skill to join it. The minimum skill requirement is 0 and the max is 20.(Leaders:) When setting requirements, they cannot go above three below your own. Example: You have 5 Aglity skill. The max requirement you can make would be 2. If you have 10 climbing skills, you can only give the max requirement of 7.
Just because you made a group doesn't mean it's going to be successful. Eight out of nine (8/9) groups fail.
You can leave your group at any time. However, the leader might not want to let you leave, and may fight you. Sometimes, in the more brutal groups, the only way you leave a group is by your death. Once you leave a group, there is a good chance they won't ever welcome you back. So make sure you know what you are doing.
STEALING
At any point in the game, you can steal. However, not all dens are easy to get to. cats who live in the Foggy Forest might put it up a tree, and you may have to have climbing skills to get to it. Cats can only put fresh-kill piles where they themselves can reach it (Has to be logical).
First, the thief must post once, saying they are sneaking into the camp/den. If the cat(s) who live in the camp/den do not reply after five minutes, you can pick a piece of prey from their pile. If ten minutes later they still do not respond, you can get away with it. HOWEVER, if they do respond and catch you, you're doomed to fight them.
TRAVELING
Traveling is going from one location to another. If you started out at the Pines and later want to travel to the Foggy Forest, you can do so. But the price isn't cheap. In order to travel you need:
2-5 pieces of prey. Depending on prey and distance.
1 Herb Minimum
Permission from Group leader (If in group)
Some places are farther from others. The cliffs and the moors are close, but far from the sea. The farther away, the more prey you need. The prey will be automatically used as food for the trip. You arrive with no prey and satisfied hunger.
You do not HAVE to have permission from a group leader, but you risk punishment/banishment if they find out.
It takes three days to travel. Do not worry about your HGP, TP, ect. Those will be taken care off.
PLAYER PROGRESS
You start out with 0 skills.
You start out at Level 1
You start out with 1x Coltsfoot
You start out with 1x Crow
You start out with full health.
Here you will find every player's stats, skills, groups, and progress. NOTE: During battles, when you are struck, it will take away a certain amount of HP depending on the move. When you use a fighting move, or if you are hunting, patrolling, or moving in any way, it takes up you EP, or energy points.
NOTE: You can regain HP and SP by sleeping in your den. However, this does NOT heal SOME status problems.
HUNGER POINTS
You start out at 10/10. 10/10 means you are satisfied. If you are over 10 (14/10) than you are stuffed, and you won't need to eat for nearly as long. Every five levels you gain, the max limit will go up 1 point. By level 5 you will have --/11 and by level 50 you will have --/20. Having a higher hunger status like the above will make the game easier, as you won't need to eat as much.

OBTAINABLE ITEMS/INVENTORY
In the RP/Game, there are certain items you can obtain. Such as herbs, which can be randomly found when the narrator says so. You can also have prey: you can only carry up to three prey. Below is a list of obtainable items, what they do, and how they can be found:
HERBS:
Coltsfoot - Common. Raises HP by 10.
Horsetail - Common. Raises HP by 30.
Tansy - Uncommon. Raises EP by 50.
Thyme - Common. Cures status problems.
Watermint - Common. Raises EP by 10.
Chervil Root - Uncommon. Raises EP by 30.
Juniper - Rare. Raises HP by 200
Yarrow - Rare. Cures Status Problems and raises HP by 200.
Marigold - Incredibly Rare. Raises EP and HP by 300 each.
Catnip - Incredibly Rare. Raises EP and HP by 1000 each. Cures status problems.
HGP:
Prey - Raises Hunger Points. Different prey raises different amounts of DEN:
Moss - Common. Can be used to make den comfy.
Feathers - Uncommon. Makes den much more comfy.
Feather Down - Rare. Makes your den wonderfully comfortable.
OTHER:
Badger Claws - Incredibly Rare. Claws from long-dead badger. Makes blows in battle do more damage.
Wolf Claws - Extremely Exclusive. Only attainable through special opportunity.
Starclan Water - Extremely Exclusive. Water from the rivers of StarClan. Used at certain levels with stones to gain a move.
Darkforest Blood- Extremely Exclusive. Blood from the body of a DarkForest cat. Used at certain levels with stones to gain a move.
STONES:
BrightStone - Common. Used at certain levels to gain a move.
DarkStone - Uncommon. Used at certain levels to gain a move.
BloodStone - Rare. Used at certain levels to gain a move.
WaterStone - Common. Can be used to heal poison.

HERBS - Can be used during battle or any other circumstance.
PREY - Can be used outside of battles (How do you eat prey during battles?)
DEN ITEMS - Mosses and feathers make it so when you rest in your den you gain energy faster, the better the material.
CLAWS - A fun thing I decided to add in. But these are extremely rare - don't count on ever getting them.
STONES - Be careful how you use these . . .
OTHER -
LEVELING UP
To attain a higher level, you must do Training Opportunities. There are two different opportunities; Training, in which you gain EXP, (Experience Points) and skill. The other is Item Opportunities, in which you can gain valuable items. You need a certain amount of EXP to level up. You can get EXP by completing Opportunities, battling, and generally hunting or patrolling, although the later two are slow.
HEALING
You can heal yourself without items by going to your den. Traveling to your den will automatically take 2 EP. When you get there, it will take you a while to heal completely. NOTE: This will not heal ALL status problems. Status problems such as Feeble, Weak, Reckless, and Shock take time to wear off, no matter what material you have.
Once you start resting, you cannot stop until finished. Cats CAN attack you when you rest, so be careful. If you are attacked, you will have the "Feeble" status for the first three moves.
Here is chart to determined how long you have to wait in your den to fully heal:
No Material = It will take you twenty minutes to fully heal. Will not heal any status.
Moss = It will take you only fifteen minutes to fully heal. Most status problems are healed.
Feathers = It will take you only ten minutes to fully heal. All status problems are healed.
Feather Down = It will take you only five minutes to fully heal, including all status.
STATS
During battle you can be affected by some stats. Not poison are stunning like the Video Game, (although you can be bit by adders, which can be healed by treating with Gingko) you can have realistic stats; feeble, weak, reckless, shock, extreme pain, and winded (out of breath). Here is a chart showing how each are afflicted and what can heal them.
Feeble = Certain battle moves, or waking up in the middle of resting. Wears off after two hours. Moves do less damage.
Weak = When running low on HP, you become weak. Healed by any way of restoring HP. Moves do less damage.
Reckless = Eating too much prey or herbs. Wears off after an hour. Accuracy will be off.
Shock = Barley coming out of a battle alive, seeing cat die. Wears off after two hours.
Extreme Pain = When hit by especially powerful move. Healed by resting. Moves take more EP.
Winded = Some moves knock the wind out of you. Can't attack for two turns. Healed by resting.
Confusion = If taken too many strong hits in a row. Healed by resting. Accuracy will be off in battle and you may end up hitting yourself instead of the enemy (and you may run into a tree or two)
MOVE GUIDE
As you gain levels, you learn better moves. Some moves are called special moves. These can only be learned by doing opportunity. Some moves, you have to have special items to get the move. You must have that item when you level up. Most items are only attainable through Item opportunities. This chart shows what level what moves are learned at. They do not show what each move does; learn for yourself by fighting or gaining levels. WARNING: You can only have up to five moves at a time. When you learn a new move, you must chose which old one to get rid of.
When you learn a move, I'll PM you what moves you have currently and what each move does. I'd keep this guide.
NOTE: There are such things as secret moves. Some special moves are not listened here.

READ NOW!!
This is a Survival game, remember that. During leafbare, you may have to kill your own friend to survive. If you faint, you can only awake an hour later.
How does a cat die?
1. Starving to death. If a cat's hunger points remain at 0 for an hour, they die of starvation.
2. Venom. If bitten by poisonous snake.
3. Fighting:
  a) If the opponent takes too many hits. Such as they faint, recover, fight more, faint recover, fight more, repeat.
  b) Too strong of a blow. If you are level 5 faced with a level 80, and they use a strong move, (Roll Slash, for instance) then your pretty much dead.
  c) Three blows from a killing move (Killing Bite, Death by Darkness, Dark Destruction)
WHAT ARE CURSES AND BLESSINGS?
There are two secret moves: Starclan's Blessing and Darkforest's Curse.
Starclan's Blessing heals you of everything and will weaken to the "Weaken" state. Only works against Darkcats*.
Darkforest's Curse poisons the opponent and puts them in the Feeble and weakened state. Only works against Lightcats*.
*See below
However, these moves are extremely hard to attain.
There is also something called Curse Stones and Blessing stones. If you find a curse stone and you are a Lightcat, you will turn Dark. Also vise versa with a Blessing Stone. These work even in you have already switched before. But they are very, very, VERY rare!
WHAT ARE PATHS?
During a certain point in the game, you will have a choice between two paths. There are two paths: Light and Dark. Each path teaches special, affective moves.
If you choose the Light path, you will be able to learn many "Light" moves such as Strike of the Good, Melody of Light, or Starclan's Blessing*. If you choose this path, you will sometimes recieve dreams from Starclan, will have high defense, and are more likely to find herbs.
If you choose the Dark path, you will be able to learn many "DarK" moves, such as Killing Bite, Dark Destruction, and Darkforest's curse* You will sometimes receive dreams from the Darkfroest, you will have high attack, and you will be more likely to find dark items such as Badger Claws*. They are generally called Darkcats, and are usually Tigerstar-like.
You can change paths only once. If you are a Lightcat, and suddenly you desire to be Dark, then you may switch. You will lose any Light moves you have and you will change to a Darkcat. Choose wisely. You can only switch once. Some groups might require you to be one or the other, but most of the time they are free-ranging.
There are other ways of switching sides. You can choose your path and become dark or light -earlier then suppose to, if you do it right. Such as, if you have a light stone, a bright stone, and a silver stone when you level up to level 10, you can become light early and gain some special moves only obtainable at lower levels (to be dark early, you'd need a black, blood, and dark stone).
A way of switching sides (though it is very rare) is asking multiple times of Darkforest or Starclan. If you wanted to be Light, ask SC. If you wanted to be dark, ask DF. The DF is more likely to say yes than Starclan is, though it is a 1/10 they'll say yes.
*And many more secret ones
SHRED'S SHOP
Every now and then, a sly, silver she-cat known as shred may visit your area. She will only be there for a few days, but she holds many items. Shred has a shop-like system.
